Did REM / Michael Stipe ever said anything about Queen?

Most contemporary artists usually say something about Queen of Freddie. I do like REM but find it strange that i cant find any reference to them on Queen.
Have i missed something?

Do your own research.
"The arrangement of 'Drive' was, in part, inspired by Queen," reported Scott Litt. "Pete and Mike are big Queen fans. Queen records, for all their bombast, sounded like each player had a personality." - Mojo #21, August 1995

Stipe reportedly said something uncomplimentary about Queen after REM played Hyde Park a week after Q+PR. Can't for the life of me remember what. Maybe I dreamt it.

"My head's on fire and high esteem
Get drunk and sing along to Queen
Practice my T-Rex moves and make the scene
Carry my dead, bored, been there, done that, anything"

Is there a need for you to be so abrupt? The guy says he has searched, and asks if he missed something. He clearly has - you found it - all you had to do was help.

How long it took YOU to find it is irrelevant. If you want to help, help. If you don't want to help, don't. But if you do help, don't be an arse about it.
This is a forum. It's FOR questions and discussions.
As for him thanking you, you want to give people a chance. Just because he hadn't yet didn't mean he wasn't going to. So no, you don't have to be so abrupt.
I really can't wait for the next time you have a question.

i believe this was in reference to the song Innuendo (Re: inspiration for the arrangement of Drive) - don't remember where i got that from.

Since when did it become offensive to be knowledgeable about something and be sought out and asked questions about it? I don't get the drama.
Plus, googling has no social interaction, and sometimes fun conversations CAN spill out of these types of things, on boards where people are less uptight.

I'll be an arse about it when i please.
It is MY opinion that he could've done his own research first and maybe more thoroughly ..and he's not the only one and this isn't the first time this happened on the board.
So if i want to comment on it, it is my right to give my opinion. This is a forum after all, right? ;) As is your right to comment on my comment, etc.
If he wants to "retaliate" with only thanking you people for backing him up and calling me bad-mannered, it's his right. He's a cunt for doing it, but it's his right nonetheless.

Whatever.
There's no excuse for you being an arse with an attitude problem, and maybe the guy wouldn't have responded to you in that way had you not been like that with him. You didn't wait for a thank you, you just bit his head off.
There could be any number of permutations resulting in what YOU found not turning up on HIS search. So he turned to a Queen board for some help with a Queen related question, which is the point of the fucking board.
At the end of the day, you do just have an attitude problem. Just because you feel you have a right to do something doesn't mean you actually HAVE to do it.

"Whatever"
The passive agression is strong with this one. xD
From this end YOU are the one with the attitude problem and on top of that, you just can't let shit go.
Maybe agree to disagree instead of trying to have the last word? Maybe a nice new years resolution for you?
Also i suggest you stop sticking up for well-known crap posters in the future, because it makes you look like a douche. ;)
^^^WHERE ARE YOU AT THOOOO?!

I said "whatever" because I knew you'd come back with a lame arse excuse for being an arse to someone who didn't deserve it.
As for getting the last word, I direct you to a previous debate between us in which I suggested the same to you,and you finished off with "word". You think you're funny, but you're really just pathetic. "Agree to disagree"? Take a leaf out of your own book. Don't project this on to me, you were the one with the attitude in the first place. You just don't like being called out for it.
And it matters not what YOU think of the poster. You might think it's crap, but he still didn't deserve the attitude. I'm hardly sticking up for him, I'm merely asking why you need to be so abrupt. But don't worry, you gave me an answer - it's your "right".
Well here's another right you have: you have the right to fuck off. I bet you don't exercise that one.
