I just had the Wembley documentary playing in the background and Brian says at one point "I think we're all still trying to use this beast which Queen is to get our own ideas to come across and we all write very different kinds of songs and it's quite a challenge to get them through this machinery and get them out". Obviously, he was referring to the songs which never landed on a Queen album. Sorry, I know it's a terrible truism, but would be interesting to find out if some of them still weren't released as solo stuff and what these ideas actually sounded like. A sort of "Anthology+" set, though not sure if it could ever work under the "Queen" banner. I think we already got some of them as part of the fabulous FM set, but would be good to hear what B, R and J's other offerings were. I'm sure there must have been F's songs too, intended for a Queen album, and rejected.
Sorry, I know many of you will find it far-fetched, as I have always been opposed to scrapping the Queen barrel endlessly myself, but I'm just referring to their individual ideas here.
Not going to happen, is it?

I wish it would mate, I really do. An anthology would just be fucking magnificent.

No. Not until Brian and Beach are dead.

This will happen when Lambert dies from AIDS, but unfortunately this does not happen.

Maybe Neil young’s online archive will propel their thinking in the right direction. If queen wants to preserve its legacy 100s of year down the road... this is the way to do it. Would be a cheap way to give fans what they want. And fans would be forced to pay a subscription fee to do so. They can charge a standard fee for the albums and a premium fee for hi res + archive material (ie studio tracks, demos etc)
Imagine having unlimited access to their digital vault? Do you absolutely need to own it? No. But under these circumstances you could access it whenever you want, either based on an annual free or a monthly fee.
We’re at a time where cloud based storage is getting cheaper and cheaper and physical medium is getting more expensive. I loved the news of the world box set. But it won’t be feasible to keep releasing those.
Anthology? No, I want it all.

Jacky Gunn from the Queen fan club asked fans over 19 years ago what stuff they would like on a Queen Anthology box set as she said it would happen (putting all our ideas to the powers that be) but here we are years later and we all swallowed her lies and drivel once again. We never got the Queen anthology box set.
She told many lies over the years and in the end i left the fan club because i realised she was fake.

Jacky isn't fake mate. She was probably advised to say that at the time.

Agreed, although it was a very long time ago, (1982 and 1984), my visits to the Fan Club were made special by he genuine care and friendliness of Jacky. After God knows how many years she has done an amazing job

Let's be clear about one thing here.
in 2000, EMI released the Freddie Anthology set.
THAT was released to see if there was a market for such material and judge whether it was worth the time, effort and expense of releasing a Queen box: which by it's very nature would be expected to have at least one CD per album, if not more. That's a MASSIVE set and a lot of money to buy!
The FM box was obviously a success, and the ball began to roll with a Queen set.
Of course, what's happened is in order to do the job properly, the archives needed to be checked and catalogued, and for whatever reason, with stalls and stops for other projects along the way, that job has taken a very long time.
Whilst it's possible the studio tapes have now all been "checked", that's all that's happened. They know what's on them, but then they need a thorough listening to and an indepth cataloguing to note what's on each of the 16 and 24 tracks on each tape.
So. Jacky didn't "lie" about the Queen boxset. She will have done as she's been asked.
The fact that QPL have since moved from EMI to Island Records not withstanding, it's still down to them as and when said Anthology ever gets released.

Brians Wig : 28 years of still waiting for a Queen Anthology set, which is totally ridiculous.
They have had loads of time to sort this out in my estimates and many fans will agree.
Please do not make excuses up for the powers that be they obviously have a disregard for the many fans that kept Queen top of the tree all those years ago,
Jacky Gunn never ever mentioned the Anthology set ever again, and i left the fan club because the membership prices were utterly ridiculous for such thin magazines
that could be read in 2 mins flat.

You're at the point of libelist commentary.
You have openly named someone and accused them of something they are not responsible. You've also posted what you have said as fact leaving no room for question in your wording.
If I were in your shoes I would retract what you have said before it filters through to the named person, and maybe apologise too.
Through the question you mentioned Jacky was representing the Band, and or the record company, and through her reply to them she would have been representing the fans.
As an earlier post mentions, the band changed record companies, there was also maybe a change in management policy. You don't know and you shouldn't jump to damning conclusion.
Reading what you've said Jacky was probably pleased to see you leave the fanclub.

Vocal Harmony You sound like a lawyer and to be honest i do not give a damn about what i stated, they always ripped the fans off with expensive fan club fees and the magazines they sent out were pathetic.
Not much of a fan club when they give the fans so little and terrible value for money.

And yet another sick freak, it's one thing not liking someone but wishing AIDS on them, wow that really does show you up for what you really are.
