I see it after all these years as pure lack and amateurism that QP seem to rely on a bunch of 60 and 70 year old people which don't seem to bother and come futher with media possibilties than Microsoft Paint Pro. The quality of some of the DVD covers , artistic quality of products and orginality is so much below standards. Why QP?
This. You’re absolutely correct here, I don’t get why QP don’t use CM for their releases (not to mention a few of the audio experts and historians on here).
Because most artists want to work with people who are committed to the brand, not fans. Of course fans can be both, but artists tend to prefer corporate minded people who will first and foremost get the job done.

As soon as anyone in an artist's circle exhibits anything that is even 1% Mark David Chapman, they're gone. To them it's work, not play.

People like Steven Wilson are an anomaly. Most artists don't work with that type. I'm sure he wakes up every day realizing how lucky he is.

If only Queen DID choose to work with people who "get the job done" properly rather than in a half-arsed way, then the quality of their final product output would go up tremendously!

Could be.. however.. Greg Brooks, Simon Lupton, Gary Taylor, Nick Weyman were all big fans and collectors before working for QP.

I may be too critical Bob, but can you never agree with some of the points people make against the way QP puts out their products on the market? You always tend to defend QP for whatever decisions they make.

It's not so much defending as simply illustrating how the corporate world works (old bands are brands, after all). I'm just the messenger. And I'm flattered that you observe my activity here so keenly.

Of course fans can get jobs. But unless they immediately exhibit a commitment to the brand above all else, they don't even walk in the door.

Rather than "defending QPL" as you put it, in reality I'm just trying to bring balance to some of the toxic negativity that frequents places like this. We don't need yet another person saying how the NOTW box set was too expensive for what it offered, or that an anthology is long overdue.

If you really want my opinion, here it is. QPL haven't put out a flawless product since the Freddie box set. There. Are you happy?

Still - over a dozen hours of archival audio and video have been released in the last 15 years, none of which they had to put out. Marvellous things that we would've killed to see and hear 20 years ago. Ask an Eagles fan how many 70s live albums have come out in audio or video. I'll save you the trip to wikipedia - the answer is zero.

The reality is - amidst the mammoth box sets of Springsteen and King Crimson and the nothing from The Eagles, Queen are about in the middle.

People complained about the 27 disc Pink Floyd box set. If you look hard enough, you'll find someone who'll complain about a cure for cancer because it didn't come in the right colour.

Far too many people lose sight of the positives. Constructive criticism is healthy, but the constant torrent of whining on this website is what makes it one of the armpits of the internet. So shoot me for trying to point out the positives wherever they may be.

You clearly didn't read my last post, because you just couldn't wait to troll.

Keep up the good work.
