Fellas, just watched the IAHL-video by the great Tim Pope again and I still love it. It's hilarious and in the same league, if not better, than the Break Free-video in my humble estimation. Can you understand the constant grumble coming from Taylor and May about that video? The way they're been shown is rather comical and they look less silly or standardized than in the awfully boring DoRo-videos, at least to me. What do you think?

I think it's great! Clearly something more going on under the allegorical surface. And the fact Barbara Valentine is in it lends another dimension to it as a visual metaphor of dissatisfaction in the court of hedonism.

I absolutely LOVE this video. It makes me smile each time I watch it. The excess! Roger and Brian said they were "indulging" Freddie. Haha they all look so miserable except for King Freddie in his outrageous outfit. And I completely love the song "This is a tricky situation..."

It's a great video. It was strange being young then, because I thought that was what normal pop stars dressed like everyday (fold in the Radio Ga Ga and IWTBF videos too) and seeing the dross on TOTP (guys in suits like they'd just left the office) was a real contrast.

Dysan, I very much enjoyed being able to read about the thoughts of your younger self. But remember 1984/1985 were also the heyday of Nik Kershaw with his Aerobic-gauntlets on TOTP. Can't decide whether that or the suits were more of an eye-catcher...
