stevelondon2020, re:

There's nothing wrong with *him* per se (well..........) but for fuck's sake, the same old shit time and time again from the same source..........

As dull and repetitive as Gambaccini.

I guess he does tell a lot of similar stories. I bet he isn't letting on everything he knows!!

From 34:00 on he names the date Freddie got the (HIV?) diagnosis as "after he agreed to do the Barcelona album". That would be late '86/early '87.
John Deacon: "I've heard what they did and it's rubbish." "Freddie can never be replaced." Brian May & Roger Taylor - ruining Queen's legacy since 1998.

And this was how they broke the news back then:

its the same with Mike Moran and "the" car crash, repetitive alright, they must have other stuff they can talk about or were they really such a big part of freddies life like they keep letting on, Straker apparently wasnt around for the last year or so. would love if Peter updated his Mr. Mercury book as he has told us a lot of additional stuff since

I really enjoy Gambaccini in interviews and documentaries. Yes the stories are mostly the same, but his interactions with F.M. were finite and with Freddie being dead going on 30 yrs, there can't be anything new.
