"In 1986 Queen became only the third act in history to play two successive concerts at one of England’s most prestigious venues, Wembley Stadium."
Who are the other two acts?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Thank you!

From very little searching:
Johnny Cash
stones
the Who
Crosby Stills Nash and Young
Elton John
They'd all posted before 1985. But that's just minimal searching. Good question. Maybe there's a tourist website indicating the first performers of the original venue.

Wasn't the Live Aid stage borrowed from Bruce Springsteen who had played two consecutive nights at Wembley Stadium?

This was never explained: a kind of magic single number 1 in 35 countries around the world ( from gh2 text!)

There is no way Johnny Cash sold out 2 consecutive nights at Wembley Stadium

You'd be surprised Mark!!

I stand to be corrected Steve, but I would like to see the evidence? Wembley Arena possibly, but two consecutive nights selling out the old stadium?
Some smartarse will now post the dates lol. BTW i love Johnny Cash, I just don’t believe that comment is accurate.

According to Wikipedia (which is often wrong!), Johnny Cash played three times at "Wembley Stadium" (although not consecutively, so I'm not sure where Matt is getting his info from) in 1979, 1981 and 1986. Doing a quick search for footage/audio, it turns out it was actually Wembley Arena and not the stadium - no surprise.
Elton has played 7 times apparently, although again nothing to suggest consecutive nights before 1986 (www.eltonography.com/tours)
Springsteen played 3 times between 1984-85, but never consecutively.
The Who and CSN, also quoted by Matt, never played consecutive nights as far as I can see (so far).
Madonna and MJ have played consecutive nights (Madge did 2 sets of 3 and MJ did 5 in a row - he has played most times there at 15 overall - but all post '86).
** The ROLLING STONES played 2 consecutive nights in 1982, on the 25th and 26th June. They are the only ones I can see (so far) prior to Queen to play consecutive nights before or up to 1986.

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wembley_Stadium_(1923):
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (played three times on the 1984–85 Born in the U.S.A. Tour,)
Queen (two shows in July 1986, on The Magic Tour)
I cannot find a third act pre July 1986, but Johnny Cash did play there in 1979

According to Wikipedia:
Queen's compilations The Platinum Collection, Classic Queen, and Greatest Hits II all make an unsubstantiated claim that the song reached #1 in 35 countries around the world, but it reached number one in Spain in 1986, the only country where it topped the charts.

Okay, I may have found it (if I'm not misinterpreting) - the other act is, in fact, Elton John - however NOT consecutive nights!
It was 2 concerts in ONE DAY, "The Night and Day" shows as part of his "Breaking Heart" tour in June (30th) 1984.
So, if my research is correct, the timeline is:
1 - Rolling Stones, 25th and 26th June 1982
2 - Elton John - 2 shows on 30th June 1984
3 - Queen, 11th and 12th July, 1986
regarding other acts - remember the OP's question is about consecutive shows, not shows played there in total.

Correct, but not consecutive shows

No he didn't, despite what Wiki says. It was Wembley Arena. There's footage and audio to prove this if you do a quick search :)
