The band opening the Oscars isn't anything to do with the film except for the fact the organizers saw an opportunity to boost ratings due to the film being up for awards and Queen riding high at the moment. QAL are the current bands format so why wouldn't someone say good luck to Adam, if he does well it makes the whole thing work better or would you rather they go out there and look bad just because it's Adam singing and you don't like him.

Queen is not his band.
I would rather everybody wish Brian & Roger all the luck for tonight and not Adam.

Yeah he's their guest singer, permanent guest singer and considering they've been touring with him for six years and will be again later this year it's better for them if he does well. I personally wish the band and Adam luck for tonight, whether he's a guest or not they are for the purposes of show a band performing together. It would be different if they were performing with say Lady Gaga as a one off but to everyone out there he's their permanent singer and it does make a difference to people's perception.

It's both the sam Maylor crap. BR is an atrocious film full of lies and Freddie insults. and QAL are an insult to good taste.

I have played the song twice from the links in this forum. I don’t have Spotify so am not affecting the iTunes numbers.

I do have a life besides what goes on in this forum and with QAL.

He calls himself a guest, I really don't know what the best term is, he's definitely not a member of "Queen" but he's been permanent for six years and Bri & Roger have said they won't work with anyone else but he and they like to keep the distinction by calling it Queen +, it's a collaboration IMO or what's known as a supergroup which is actually what they often get called by the media.

As to his own "new" music you can only have heard that one track since he hasn't released any others. I'm not a massive fan of Adam's solo music, there are a few tracks I like my favourite's by far are Chokehold and Runnin but I'm not really a pop fan. That doesn't mean he will flop since lots of people do love that type of music so I guess time will tell.

There's no way he would do that and he's obviously not said anything until he was feeling better, he's not the type of person to play the sympathy card. Why would it be so hard to imagine he was depressed or having problems, it's hardly a normal life musicians live and they are as prone to being lonely and depressed as anyone else, more so in some cases, it can't be easy to have a relationship when you spend most of your time away from home, different city every couple of days and there's always the problem of not knowing if someone likes you for yourself or because your famous/rich etc. We all know Brian frequently feels depressed and he often talks about it as well.

I can see her saying "this isn't the AL music I was hoping for. Way too sad for my tastes".
I don't think he is playing the sympathy card. I usually can tell when people do that, but I don't get the impression from AL with this.
I listened to it three times so far.

ive listened to a lot of AL tracks and they are all unmemorable and depressing.
He is a poor artist without Queen.
