Too bad they do not use RSD for something truly great like an Earls Court 77 LP release on coloured vinyl.
on my way up

Don't be silly; QPL hasn't finished squeezing Bohemian Rhapsody for all it's worth by any stretch of the imagination......

Slightly better photos of them here:

They really don't care anymore about design, do they?

Yeh, I was thinking the exact same thing. Yikes.
They'd released the same thing already in 2015, albeit with a different cover of course. What's the point? Money.
We love you Mandy!

Was going to pick up that 7" if not for that awful cover. I thought it would just be a normal disc, maybe with some regional single cover like the 2015 12".

Hope I can get a copy of Brian´s single.

As much as I´d love to, I won´t be able to spend the day looking for it in stores. Besides, there´s no guarantee I will find it in the participating stores in my city, Barcelona. But I´m pretty sure it will be easy to get one online after RSD.

The other item I´m more interested in is the Wilson/Hawkins/May/Taylor Holy Man single. Love the song and really believed it would took ages to get this version released, so I´m very happy it´s out at last. And I already pre-ordered it at amazon.es. Can´t understand why a RSD item is available for pre-order at amazon, but won´t complain as long as I receive it.

Even Bowie's RSD output this year is pretty lame. The last few years his people have served up unreleased live material and genuinely interesting archival stuff - all of which was pretty unheard of in those circles since the early 1990s. I guess QPL rate themselves more commercial and wait for their archival treats to have general release. Fair enough of course, but a pain in the arse waiting.

^ I agree, Los Angeles 74 and Earls Court 78 were both really great releases from Bowie on the past few Record Store Days. The only thing interesting me this year is the mono mix of Pink Floyd's Saucerful of Secrets.

Although that said, he's releasing 2 mini boxsets of '68 / '69 home demos on general release rather than record store day, so I guess that fits my QPL hypothesis too.

I have LA '74 on a few bootlegs so didn't bother with a new hard copy, and the '78 tour doesn't interest me but still sourced a rip. But yes, almost unheard of for him to sanction complete live recordings and a great signal for future stuff.

Can anyone who got these on the day share the prices of these? For scientific reasons...

@Dane: bought Holy man for €12. I saw the Borhap OST picture disc for €55 in my local record store, which I think was way too expensive. So I left it there.
