Not after live aid. After the FM tribute.
It was only ever press shite. Nothing ever substantiated
Fixed, that's what rushing does.! ;)
That was exactly my point, the tiniest bit of a story, true or not, quickly snowballs and the British tabloids are good at (if nothing else) printing shit

Who's George Michaels?
You need 2 George Michaels to replace 1 Freddie Mercury, so the offer was on the table only if George Michael agreed to clone himself.
Clearly, you don’t know your Queen history. Tsk tsk tsk.

George would have been so more professional as Queen's lead singer than Adam Lambert ever was.
He has a better voice and is so much more classier.
Freddie would have chosen George any day over Adam Lambert.

I think George was great but no idea why you think he's "classier". And you have no more idea who Freddie would have chosen than any of us.

People like MamaQueen are proper trolls. Spell the guys name wrong then disappear and watch the fallout.

Well, well, mooghead. Thank you very much. Lol. Have had a lot of going on in my life lately, (I think you read my personal post in the forum telling what's going on with me) that's why I haven't put my additional two cents, but here it goes. I agree that George does not have the voice to sing rock, he has a beautiful voice for ballads. I also think that he had his own career and didn't want to be part of a band. I don't know anything about the tabloids, the rumors and I thank everybody who answer my question, all the comments are very interesting and add to my knowledge about Queen.

Not suited to most Queen songs, and was probably a more successful artist than Queen in late 80s early 90s. No reason why he would ever have fronted Queen except as a once off,

Rockchic: You are jealous of George Michael because he was original and sang his own material for a living and made some fantastic music , something in which your lame boyfriend Lambert will never achieve as he is a great pretender.
Wake up George is a legend and a very good friend with Freddie, and i know Fred would have have been very humbled that George sang one of his songs with Queen.
Lambert is a nobody but pretends he is a god which is a laugh.
We know you and the other 2 girls on here are besotted with the fag hag on here but get real Lambert is nothing compared to Mercury, Bowie, Jagger, Lennon etc...........

I think you've lost the plot I'm not the least bit jealous of George I thought he was brilliant and loved his gorgeous soulful voice. I wasn't mad keen on his pop stuff with Wham but solo he was amazing and I'm sure Freddie would have loved him singing for him at the tribute show. Incidentally Adam also loved George, he was one of his hero's along with Freddie, Bowie and Prince. No idea why you have to make everything into a competition, there's room in the world for lots of talented people and it's also ok to like more than one of them.

Rockchic You were not keen on Georges pop stuff yet you support Lambert's drab depressing solo career, now you have lost the plot.
Lambert has no musical direction he is a mixed up bag of nothing and only has Queen to rely on to make him get some limelight,
If it was not for Queen he would not have been in Las Vegas or anywhere else for VIP rock stars.
One day you and your twisted sisters on here will wake up and feel like right idiots.

Why make this another Lambert isn't good enough thread. You've done it to death and this thread isn't about your favourite subject.

Vh Because the thread is entitled "Choosing George Michael" get it?
bucsateflon · Member since
The thread title supposed to be "Choosing George Michaels casket" but the initiator stumbled and this shit came out.
Star* · Member since
bucstaeflon : Nothing to do with a casket it was about George and was he ever asked to replace Freddie.
I wish he had for a little while then nellie Lambert would not be destroying the Queen magic.
bucsateflon · Member since
open casket, closed casket...type of wood chosen... you know stuff like that
