I remember travelling back to Sunderland from this concert and local radio presenter Alan Robson was taking calls from listeners on how far afield they could hear the music. Washington, Birtley, Chester Le Street etc.
Great night........and my final one of seven.

St James Park Newcastle was a brilliant concert and Freddie was in magnificent form, strutting his stuff and proving he was the king of rock forever. I was so proud to be a Queen fan that day and the concert got good coverage on the BBC & ITV news.
Paul Frost who introduced ITV Northern Life news programme said everyone had a fantastic time and that Freddie Mercury had blown everyone away! Great memories and Queen at there peak,

Most Queen fans would have said Queen were brilliant. Did you notice the rest of the band, only you appear to have only seen Freddie.

I saw the rest of the band but Freddie made the show as any decent Queen would tell you.

I'm not a decent Queen fan though because my view was that the shows were great because the band was great, not because of any one member.

This was my first ever concert, at the age of 16. My cousin took me and it blew me away seeing Freddie live in front of my eyes. I am sure I did notice the other band members, but the focus was all on Freddie for the whole concert. There was definitely a lull during Brian's 4 hours guitar solo lol. No concert has ever matched it in the last 30 odd years since. I remember Quo playing for well over an hour as INXS didn't make it, and they were also great as everyone knew all the songs. The only one that came close for excitement was David Lee Roth in '88 for the showmanship, although he was past his prime by then, and Billy Joel at Maddison Square Garden for the experience.

Sorry but i never take anything serious that you print.
Freddie was the centre of attention at any Queen gig, he was like a magnet to millions of fans. Freddie made the show exciting.
If you and the desbicable "Vocal Harmony" cannot see that then i pity your values as Queen fans,
