I am amazed about the creativity of so many people using Queen as inspiration. Last week i found the amusing version of my melancholy blues by louis amstrong.. and now i find a cathedral version of it :) it sure makes me smile.

Amazing singing when you realize he was dead recording this :p?
(SATCHMO would have been dead 6 years prior to recording this. ..must've been a one take, gaseous rot cloud interpretation. )

Queen have so much more to offer than other bands they are amazing!

Let's be frank, Queen were never pioneers with the exception of being a spectacular live band. Their biggest achievements in the studio were pastiche and highly influenced by others. Their unique property was that they could cherry-pick from much wider sources than most bands....
Time to duck for cover...

Queen are the only band were all four have had hit singles, no other band did that!
Queen and Abba are probably the most successful 2 bands from the 70s ever, as the rest have faded.

Queen are by far more popular than Abba but to be fair Queen are a rock act and Abba a pop act so really comparing the two is unfair.

Broadly speaking I wouldn't disagree. No one is creative in a vacuum. In he 80's they followed trends quite openly, however in the 70's I think they were far more inventive then many bands.
Very very few artists are true pioneers, and the artistic strength Queen had was there ability to mix styles, not only from song to song but sometimes within songs.

Probably because they haven't made their fans feel like smashing their heads against their desks. Repeatedly. For 3 decades.
