The first shot captures Freddie coughing possibly from a cold and we were treated to a Queen song called Somebody To Love which in didn't serve a purpose because the actor playing Freddie would have definitely heard the noise and reacted to it. After a montage of useless crap we get a flash back of Freddie being a racially profiled due to the white men asserting their white privilege onto Freddie. I also thought it was a gentle touch seeing Freddie at a bus stop writing down unreleased song lyrics. However, Freddie made me lose my respect for he/they. He randomly walks up to some attractive girl who was most likely under effect on the patriarchy where she was forced to present her sexuality to all these thirsty privileged men. She didn't have to talk to him, she should have talked to a wonderful man with extroverted traits and a personality.
Also, the film's directors should have displayed trigger warnings since it presented Britain before homosexuality was legal.
I was generally disgusted that the film included the song 'Fat Bottomed Girls' which contain lyrics with disturbing sex themes and not about their personalities. Thus, asserting the notion that men don't need to change their behaviour.
I was also disturbed how a random white guy kissed Freddie's lips which is very close to rape. The movie coundn't hold themselves together about the rape culture in USA. Thanks Donald Trump.
I personally think someone else should have played Freddie since the actor who play the singer was too masculine and straight in my opinion. The other actors could have put into a lot of effort since they're playing the band members who dismissed freddie's gender.
I was astounded by the omission of Freddie questioning his gender and transgenderism. Before anyone else says i'm triggered. Get a life troll.
I thought it was a stupid decision for the film makers get rid of any homosexual sex scenes from the movie since it would verify Freddie's alleged homosexuality. As the movie dragged on with songs being written such as Bohemian Rhapsody in 1976 and We Will Rock You in 1980. I thought the film should have reflected that We Will Rock You was only a song that someone with white privilege would write since they wouldn't know the real issues of the people of color.
I also noticed on of the errors of Brian May having a degree in astrophysics while in reality it was the bass player. John (i think) was the astrophysicist. Plus white privilege played a role into their education.
Some things made me surprised about the sad realities of Freddie Being diagnosed in 1985 and revealing he had HIV/Aids during rehearsal which explains his alleged sore throat.
Overall, I thought the movie was another film overcompensating with white privilege and incorrect facts about Freddie.
Fun fact: I got thrown out of the theatre after I got out my seat shouted "Freddie is a homophobe" because all the old dinosaurs told me to "sit down we can't hear the movie". I then said the truths of how the LGBTQI+ community is oppressed under capitalism and seen as second class citizens in Los Angeles California and Freddie was being homophobic to Mary's boyfriend. Thus, I will never listen to a queen record again.
