That's A LOT of Brian-screentime and it also paints him in the most favourable light possible, glad they didn't go (completely) with that idea.
Om the other side, it's a pity to see that they kept some of the weaker scenes from this script and threw away some really strong ones (for example, the scene where Freddie visits the dying Joe Baston in the hospital).

Will flick through later - what are the main plot point changes? I read the first page and it seemed very interesting.

It was more autobiographical - you could see Brian in 2016 talking about events in the past, it was narration at times. There's a bit of Hyde Park, but there's a lot more obscure songs referenced in the film too (but no Keep Yourself Alive). Here are all the songs I found but I may have missed out a couple.

Tony Bastin?

I think this character is supposed to be a combination if Joe Fanelli and Tony Bastin...

I don't even think Freddie visited Tony when he was dying anyway

I can't tell which script was worse. This is the Brian May story with Freddie going to gay bars with Mary.

Well neither script is strong on getting things accurate
