Man On Fire - Is Brian May on it?

I don't know if this was debated before. But, as everybody know, this Roger's solo track was done for The Works, but it was rejected and finally is appears on Strange Frontier, that same year. Listening to the extended version of it, there's some guitars, that it really reminds me to the Red Special of Doc Brian May, just at the beggining of the track.
What do you think? Probably Roger used the demo of the track when it was working with Queen? Just as Freddie used the band version for his solo track Love Kills...

This is the one solo song I really wish was a Queen track.
Imagine it given the full blown Queen production!

How many ears does Roger Taylor have? LOLZ!

There were rumours few years back, that Man On Fire was really started during Queen recording sessions, the photo of a sheet was given as the proof - it listed this song on the same wheel tape as one of the Works' song (I just can't remember which was it). But if this demo contains one of the other Queen boys or Roger used the same tape for his solo work, nobody knows for sure.

As ‘ man on fire’ was in the master demo tape of power plant studios LA, it could easily been ended as ‘man on the prowl’ ??

I wouldn't be surprised if whoever played guitar on that version (Roger himself according to the notes) just copied Brian's performance in a potential original demo, very much like the "Mr. Bad Guy" session guitarist copied Brian's performance from that "She Blows Hot And Cold" early version. It's not the same person but a similar performance reminiscent of the same sound. Even the b-side version almost sounds like a Queen song.

Just imagine "Strange Frontier" with Freddie on vocals, full guitar arrangement replacing some of the less-than-essential synths and the full Queen-sound.

Seriously, if they made The Works a Roger-heavy album with the best tracks off Strange Frontier replacing the weaker ones that actually made the cut, I think it might just have made a pretty fine album.

Yes, those chords do sound a bit like the Red Special at around 1:20. But not enough to say conclusively one way or the other.

No, 'Man on fire' and 'Man on the prowl' are two way different tracks, first one wrote by Roger and second one written by Freddie.

Just because both tracks have "Man on..." on its title it doesn't mean that both have the same origin.

And no, there is no Brian on Roger's Man on Fire.
