Apologies if this has been discussed before....
Which songs do you folk consider to be the ‘best’ songs by the individual members?
My choices -
Brian - BTTL, Let Me Out, WDWTA, Resurrection
Roger - Strange Frontier, You Had To Be There, Man on Fire, No Violins
Freddie - In My Defence, LMLTNT, You Kind of Lover, The Golden Boy, How Can I Go On

Brian - as with Queen - when he sticks with the heavy stuff rivals NY other guitarist in history. When he trots out shite like Another World and that "Twatty Conroy" nonsense, he's nothing more than laughable.
Roger - consistently high quality and interesting material throughout his solo career with very few flops or instances where you want to skip a track.
Freddie - the vocal tour de forces - as ever
John - everything he's ever done.......

Roger - No More Fun.

Brian - Business.

Freddie - In My Defence.

John - agree with the above. Everything!!

The Golden Boy, How Can I Go On[/QUOTE]

Technically, those two aren't solo songs - they're duets.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

I prefer Roger´s stuff over Brian´s. But Freddie´s Barcelona was a masterpiece.

Roger:
Masters of War, Happiness, Nazis 1994, Revelations, The Key, Old Friends, Pressure On, C'mon Down, Is It Me?, Believe In Yourself, Where Are You Now? Sunny Day, Smile, Fight Club, Be With You, some of the cross tunes

Brian:
Driven by You, Last Horizon, Business, Wildernes, One Rainy Wish, the slow version of Hammer To Fall

Freddie:
Mr. Bad Guy, Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow , Barcelona, The Fallen Priest. The Golden Boy, How Can I Go On, In My Defence, Lady With A Tenor Sax, She Blows Hot & Cold and the remixes of Love Kills (Rock Mix) and Living On My Own (1993 Radio Mix),

John:
all the queen stuff :)

Roger's solo output has aged, and stands up to repeated listening, far better than Brian's (or Mr Bad Guy). As stated above though, the Barcelona album is clearly the stand out 'artistic achievement', whether it's your cup of tea to listen to or not (for the record, I love it).

Agreed, but Barcelona isn't a solo album there is a lot of input on those songs by other people, vocally, production wise and writing.
