How were you first introduced to Queen?

My school band had a concert with the theme "Music From The Seventies". We played Bohemian Rhapsody as our finale, and that's how I was introduced to Queen.

I got introduced probably through Top Of The Pops back in the 70's. If not that, then it was my older brother whole told us all to "shut the fuck up" as he stuck a microphone up to the telly speakers as the Hammersmith Odeon show from 1975 was being shown live on telly. Happy days indeed.

About 10 years ago, I heard Killer Queen on the radio. Had me sold

I heard Killer Queen on the radio nearly 45 years ago and I liked it very much. I wasn't completely sold until I heard Bohemian Rhapsody almost 44 years ago. A Night at the Opera was the first or second eight track tape that I purchased as a teen.

I recall hearing Killer Queen on the radio in 1975 (I think it was released later here in Australia). Then it was the Bo Rhap video and I was hooked. I got NATO as a present just before I saw them live in April 76. What an amazing show!

I had a slow progression of events that led to me being obsessed with Queen. I have very vague memories of seeing the Bo Rhap video, probably Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in 1976 but only a visual memory of that....I have a clearer memory, likely Spring/Summer 1978 of thinking about WATC and that it was cool that there was a song about the Marvel comic book The Champions (the song is so heroic, it sounded like a comic book style song to me)...later, I'd love to listen to Bicycle Race on a jukebox at a diner down the road from me. A friend says sometimes we'd go there just so I could listen to the song. I didn't know anything about the band. In 1980, aged 13, I bought my first US single, for AOBTD. Still didn't really know who the band or lead singer was, but I recall listening to it three or four times straight, loving Freddie's vocal breakdown in the middle, then putting it in a drawer and never listening to it again (or the B-side). Flash forward to 1984 and being introduced to classic bands by my soon to be brother-in-law. By this point, I was getting heavily into rock music; Zeppelin, Beatles, raiding my sisters record collection. I had grown up not really listening to that much rock music at all, hearing my mom play The Beatles and loving the Red and Blue album and Abbey Road. Well, anyway, helping him move out of his apartment to one that he'd share with my sister, a record player was on the floor and next to it, Queen II. He threw on Side Black and that was it. Being a comic book and fantasy/sci-fi mega fan (and what I drew all the time) Ogre Battle absolutely blew me away. I also loved classical music, having played piano since age 9. Put all that together and that date, October 27th 1984 was a pivotal day for me. No looking back, then. I was all in and soon had every album they did and within a few years was into the boots and trading.

I learned about Queen when I read a rave review of their first album in Rolling Stone just after it was released. I went to the record store and bought it and the tradition began.

It was a long time ago, probably 1984 year when I was only 7. I saw on televison video for " I Want To Break Free ". I remember it was very funny to me that men were in women's clothes with makeup and wigs but most funny was that one man still have mustaches. :-D

My Cousin had A Kind Of Magic on Cassette back in 1986. We listened to it over and over again. That was me hooked since that very day!!!
