Ooooohhhhh Fredfie!! Brilliant. So, so cool. Great thinking and a big thank you. :)))
Fredfie,That was a beautiful interview he looked so happy but yet still so emotional.I seen some little white shorts. He was correct he was a kind man and would do anything for his friends. His friends would do anything for him.Awesome words thank you we wouldnt be able to see this if you hadn't uploaded it.
Fredfie! Gold star girl - you're my hero ;-* You are right, of course, nothing new. But, it was nice to see him and his beautiful smile on the interview!
Chevyman- take a deep breath girl - love you!!
Enjoying everyone’s conversations- really like reading more than writing- love the positive conversations!! Still learning a lot from everyone!!
Thor- hope you are on the mend!!
Here is the video about Somebody to Love when Brian says he he thinks Freddie would have liked to be Aretha Franklin

Hoping everyone is well...
Nice JB! I’m sure Brians not wrong :). I love when Freddie talks about Rogers voice as “the dog whistle pitch”!!
Have an awesome night all!
SniffsU. I love that clip too. :))
I love how influenced he was by soul performers.... I just came across something (think in Peter’s book) and have seen it in other places about him liking Dionne Warwick and Lionel Richie. It’s especially interesting to me... Freddie’s leanings. Because he had such a knowledge and appreciation for art-form. I know I’ve said it before but Man, would it have been amazing to have a class taught by him. Maybe we have to settle for one about him. I know a college student who currently has a Beatles class as an elective. I really think there should be More school of rock type education. I’d take that class!!
I also heard an interview a while back where person said they studied 3-4 Queen songs in a grade school class. Whaat? I missed out. Haha.
Have a nice day all!!
Jb050,Yes there should be classes offered for sure.I would like to take one to learn more about Bob Dylans music.I love some of his songs but they are a little hard for me to understand.Like tambourine man what is that song talking about? I have an idea what it means to me but who knows what was in the artist's mind when he created it.Thats what I like about Queens music it was meant to mean different things to different people and it does.
Classes would interesting, except for grades, tests...yuck. :) In my Queen questing, I came across this blog: Queen: An Exploded Diagram
https://explodedqueen.wordpress.com/ She is a life-long Queen fan, young (she seems young), funny, British. She reviews every Queen song from every album. I haven't necessarily agreed with all of her assessments, but she has a charming style and can be quite amusing. It's been good for me because (as I mentioned previously), I wasn't really a Queen fan. (Horrors! Sacrilege!) I knew the hits and that's about it. So, I've loved getting to know, not only the hits, but some real jewels that are on Queen's albums. I'm only about half way through, but plan to finish. Another, more academic and thorough site is Queen Songs:
https://www.queensongs.info/ I haven't spent any real time there, just glanced at a few posts. Maybe that's my next stop.
And with both websites, there are no tests!
Thereyouhaveit, That's me I hated going to class I would just go take tests dont know how that worked for me but it did.Im not a not taking person eitber.Im a visual and hearing learner .I can see or here something once and remember it.Instruments and music are kinda the same way .I agree with you on knowing some of Queens hits I knew the music but not the man that made the magic.
I meant I'm not a note taker either.I hate when that happens to my words.
TUHI, you might also be interested in queenlive.ca. Very comprehensive listing of their concerts with some pics, vids, memorabilia. Be forewarned, you could get stuck and have a hard time getting out (even as a newb lol).
Re classes: what the heck kinda grade school studied Queen and where the heck was I? Wouldn't be surprised if some college has a class like that...when I look at the offerings at my son's school, I have to shake my head sometimes! Most of the GenEd's are still the usual but now they have crap like basket-weaving, intro to gym and jewelry making classes. I had to take Economics, Stats, etc. with my major classes! *sigh* Maybe I'll have him start a petition...I could be his tutor for an easy A in Queen Class!!
Amidds,I would been at every class faithfully if that's what they were teaching. My favorite class in elementary was bandcand it was all the way through school.
Chevy, I don't/didn't hate school, but am way too cranky now to put up with anything that I can't control--like test, projects, annoying classmates...
Amidds, so funny! My son had an amazing array of classes when he was in middle school and high school, so much more than I ever had. No queen classes though. He got into Queen when he was 15 or 16--sometime during high school, I can't quite remember exactly when. I was like: Wow, Queen? Are they still around?" He was more taken with Brian--the whole guitar/astrophysics thing, and John--my son picked up the bass guitar and noodled around with it for a while.
I may need to curse you for that link. And The Hub might file for divorce.... But thanks, anyhow!
Look at this!! Soo jealous. Think we would pass for Cleveland grade schoolers? Sooo cool! So glad these programs exist.
Rockin’ the Schools programs are free, on-site, interdisciplinary classes on the history of rock & roll that meet academic content standards. Classes draw on the power of rock & roll to get students excited about academic content areas from fine arts, language arts, and social studies to mathematics, science, and technology.
* Our staff of highly trained educators teach one-hour, interactive classes.
Thanks for the links TUHI. We all have so much research time in. That should count for an A don’t you think? :))
I’d like to be in Jack Black’s school of rock class. Although don’t think Queen was on the chalkboard diagram. Hmmm. Anyone remember?
