I've always been aware of this famous group, with songs like Don't Stop and The Chain, but recently I've listened to a lot more of their music. I actually find them very good and I see a lot of similarities with Queen. I love their album Rumours, that is one of the all time great albums and I can see why that has sold so many copies (45 million copies). Also, Go Your Own Way is one of the best rock songs of all time. That is always on the radio and I never get bored of it.

What is your opinion on this complex group?

Class act all round. Good driving music. I saw them in 1988 in Dublin. Good show.

Funny you say that. Romours is my favourite driving album by far.

I am not going to edit that coz Romours actually sounds better than Rumours.

It depends on who's Fleetwood Mac you're talking about ;)

Actually, it doesn't - it's all good.

And aye, Rumours is a great album. As are Tusk and Tango in The Night.

Alabtross is a classic.

Not going to edit that, either.

I like "Everywhere" and "Go your own way".

I like Everywhere too, not many songs dedicated to someone called Colin

It's got a pretty great video, too.

I really like Tango In The Night, even though not all songs are great.

Fleetwood Mac is a "proper" group, who could write songs, play their own instruments, and sing and harmonise vocally. Not many groups can claim they've done this. That is probably why I rather bands who can do that.

Everywhere is a great song. It's still really popular today, several years ago it got into the UK Top 20 again!

They are a fantastic live act, you can really see their talent.

Rumours and Mirage are my favourite Fleetwood Mac albums. I also like the 1971 Greatest Hits album. I used to like Tango In The Night a lot more than I do now. I'm not sure if it's because I heard it too much or the production sounds dated. Probably a mixture of both.

'Can you hear me Colin'

It cannot be unheard...

I think Neil Finn is awesome, but he can't replace Lindsey Buckingham.

Lindsey fans, this is essential listening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2GUkN9i1Io - the emotion at the end is just pure class. It came right from his toes. The song has a different meaning now, obviously.

Speaking of emotion, this version of The Chain is just...well, just watch and listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGykwC0fdJ4
John: "It's the one thing I wish I could do - sing."

The loss of Lindsey Buckingham from the lineup has changed the live dynamic so much, as it did on the Tango in The Night tour.

They are a great band but I feel that Buckingham is such a strong musical character (and personally) the effects of his departure (again) will have had a huge effect. They disguise it well but lack of his guitar has changed the sound so much, more so perhaps then when Christine Mc Vie wasn't touring.
