Years back I bought a vinyl copy of Queen II, released in Italy. It's not the usual gatefold cover but what's more interesting is that it was advertised as having a different mix to the normal release. For various reasons I didn't get the opportunity to listen to it at the time and I no longer have a record player. Does anyone know if it actually is a different mix and if so are there any significant differences?

Surely we would know about this by now and it would have been shared. Are you still in possession of it?

I still have it. It's possible the seller was bullshitting but as it was cheap (IIRC £8) in an Ebay auction I thought I'd risk it.

Don't know. Send it to me and I'll digitise it for you.

I don't imagine it will be a different "mix" - possibly a different "master" pressed from an alternative master tape maybe, but I can't remember any time they've ever gone back to the Queen II original tapes and remixed them? I suppose if they released the tapes to Hollywood record for the 1991 remixes then the whole album COULD have been remixed and leaked, but I very much doubt that. The only full album known to be released in remixed form is Live at Wembley 86, featuring a prominent 'Remixed by Roger Taylor' sticker on the sleeve.

It could be a different master I suppose. It's the original Italian LP, not a more recent version.
