Does anybody know why Brian, Roger, and Freddie's original solo albums are now no longer available?

It seems strange that for such a big act as Queen, the individual members solo albums are not available to buy except as a digital download. Freddie's albums are not available to buy at all except for Messenger of the Gods.

I know that none of them were particularly big sellers and musically speaking they weren't as strong as Queen, and they weren't as interesting to the public as Queen, and it probably doesn't help that the film slated Freddie's solo work.... (perhaps I've just answered my own question)....

thoughts please?

Roger's discography, including The Cross, can be downloaded from his compilation release, "The Lot"

Brian's solo albums even dropped off Spotify a year ot two back where they were available earlier. I'm sure it's licensing but a shame they can't be heard that way.

miraclesteinway, re:

None of them are big draws as solo artists in their own right and, therefore, with the desire to keep whatever it is that's masquerading as Queen these days in the spotlight, any solo material takes a back seat. In the main, the solo material is pretty forgettable so download what you can for free and don't waste you money on the crap bits like Another World and Mr. Bad Guy. The mythical solo box from Brian that was supposed to be coming out could have been an absolute gem.........

All of Roger's albums are on Apple Music, so are available.

^might kill the buzz for the eventual "sequel".

MBG isn't horrible, but it certainly isn't very good.

Surprised the better tracks of that era were non album singles.

Yeah true Matt. Would be great to see it back in the Charts though!

Is that really the kind of music you want people who only know Freddie Mercury from Greatest Hits and the movie to associate with him? I think Mr. Bad Guy dated very badly, and it wasn't that great to begin with. Yes, there are some good songs on there, and there are others that had potential but didn't fulfill it (Made In Heaven), but I can't call it a good album.

for the guy album...if F hired J , R and B..it would be a massive one....at least for the production and musical talents...

What do you mean Thomas? I’ve been a Queen fan for decades. I love Freddie’s solo album more than the first four Queen albums.

Dated? It’s music. How does music sound dated really badly? Doesn’t sound like Van Halen to me.
