Freddie was into cocaine. Roger liked it too and developed that hardened party face going into the eighties. They likely had access to the much safer pharmaceutical cocaine made by Merck. Keith Richards talks about that in his autobiography. Around 1974 is when Freddie has ready access to this as he was touring with Mott the Hoople. Around 1980, he would do MDMA in the NYC clubs. Peter Freestone enjoyed getting this along with the Cocaine from a NYC apartment that lived a drug dealer. This is documented in the Freestone book. He quit the cocaine in 1990.

Don’t worry or look down on your hero. If you enjoyed the 1976-1979 UK/USA/Europe tours , Freddie was high and You enjoyed his art.
