“Adam Lambert performing The Show Must Go On with Brian May and Roger Taylor just shattered my heart but then picked it up with gentle gloved hands and carried each last piece to heaven.”

This video is a great example of one of the reasons I no longer go to these things. Not only are the costs of these rock concerts prohibitively expensive, but it is difficult to enjoy them because of the actions of people in the audience who insist on standing throughout the show, cannot shut up, and seemingly have to whistle. Ridiculous and a complete waste of money.

There is a difference between going to an arena gig and an opera.
This is esp. for you haters who have certain preconceptions about Adam's voice and the show in general. I have my experience and then that of a professional. You might like to read it!
I attended the Boston show Sunday night and it was out of this world! It was packed to the rafters with many people running around outside the venue trying hopelessly to get tickets somehow! It seemed to be all ages with many more young folks than what I remember from the last two tours. I thought the concert was far superior to the 2014 and 2017 shows and I loved those at the time.
The opening is heart pounding with the red curtains and that beautiful, mysterious music. It really set the stage for the rest of the show. Now I'm Here is my favorite introductory song! All of the visuals were amazing. The space scene with Brian was literally out of this world. There were just so many things to look at and it went by so quickly.
I liked the songs that were played and the order in which they were played. There was a continuity and a storyline.
The songs worked extremely well with Adam's voice and I especially liked Machines. Doing All Right with the three of them made me tear up as it is just so beautiful. WWTLF is my fav and he always sings that song extremely well. I get goosebumps! Bohemian Rhapsody is tremendously well done and that might be the audience's favorite. There wasn't a song I didn't love. I think Adam's voice has matured and his lower register is markedly improved and the overall tone is a bit heavier, but he still hits all those stratospheric notes. There was not a bum note all night! His stage presence is much better and he didn't appear wooden at all. The open mouth is usually because he is mouthing the words of the song to the audience. He isn't going for pretend rocker! That made me feel better. Adam is a much better showman than he is given credit for here on QOL. The show just flowed with no down time or lags in it.
Brian was amazing. I have never heard him play so fast and so hard and it was a hot, humid night! I don't know where he found the energy. He hasn't slowed down a bit with his guitar playing! He is featured a lot more than I remember in previous tours. Adam comes away and Brian is in the spotlight. Nobody got up and left when he did his solo, just so you know!! It was wonderful with those cool visuals. Roger didn't do quite as much, esp w/o the drum solo. But UP was stellar. He has such a unique voice and I loved Adam and him singing together.
It is really a sensory delight on all levels. I would love to see it another time as there are so many things to look at, to listen to, to process and it goes by far too quickly. I was in the 5th row and there was no thrust, so the stage couldn't have been more than 15 yards from me (we were packed in like sausages!). Since it wasn't their normal stage, they tended to gravitate in the middle right in front of me and I could see every movement and facial expression. So cool! The only downside was that since the stage was so small, they couldn't put the motorcycle on it and we didn't hear the bicycle song! I would go again in a heartbeat. It is my favorite concert of all time!
I know some of you are saying, "Well, she is a Glambert, so what else is she going to say?" I went with a friend of my younger son (friend is 33) and he is a musician and a photographer of all the rock bands that come to NE. He has played in the official Arrowsmith Tribute Band and is a super bass player and guitar player. ( He used to play in our basement with my sons in high schoo land I have known him forever.) He also has photographed pretty much every rock band around. He saw Queen with me, Iron Maiden the night before, Judas Priest a month or so ago and Korn is next week and he has seen others recently. He has done photos for Metallica, Guns n Roses,Creed, Slip Knot, Ozzy, Avantasia and you name it. Over the last 10 years that he has been doing this, he has seen them all. So he should have much more credibility than I do, as this is his life and his business. He is also an honest person who will tell me the truth. I asked him about some of the complaints that you see here about Adam and this being theater and not rock. He thinks Adam is one of the strongest singers around and would not consider him anything but a rock singer .He laughed when I asked him that one. He does not have a broadway vibe or thin, weak voice or any nonsense like that. The idea of Queen as musical theater also made him laugh and thought anyone saying that was pretty ridiculous. Brian May is one of the greatest guitar players he has ever seen and he couldn't get over how strong his playing was on Sunday. He told me this was one of the very best ROCK shows that he had ever attended. There was no way Queen's show is anything but one of the best rock concerts there is touring right now. He has seen everyone and this show that Queen puts on, rivals the best and is at the top of the heap. That is the opinion of a non-Glambert so to speak, and a professional who deals with rock in every aspect of his life and who has actually seen this show and the 2017 show. The show is a whole lot better than some of you give it credit for. Needless to say we were both happy campers after the show and all I heard were people having been wowed by the show as we walked back to the car.

This is Queenzone.
Cut and paste much?
I feel so worthless. A B level professional has spoken the gospel, and therefore my opinion is invalid.
I guess I need a tongue transplant because my taste in music sucks.

Sniffles...thanks for the great review.
I know you said you heard people make positive comments as you walked to the car but how was the audience responding during the show? We're they over-enthusiastic? Subdued? Did many sing aloud to Love of My Life( that's always been a tricky one in America)?

Thought the same after reading the first sentence. 3/4 of this crap review is trying to justify this mess and it seems that it was already written b4 the show. Who cares if some Photographer thinks it was great. Can I have my own opinion??? You really think you can change someones mind by trying to be more credible by this so called pro. Photographers do their job and are usually no fans. Lameturd is embarrassing as ever. His voice does not suit Queen or Rock in general. His voice is annoying and paperthin. And a parrott has more stage presence than this twat. RT looks really his age now and has lost steam. And each Video i watch May is messing up a solo. And to inform you: it is not QUEEN what you saw despite writing it in every sentence. QAL are a sad and bad tribute Cabaret act with a goat fronting them. Most embarrassing team up in history
