Other than the actual vinyl and CDs, for me it's my ticket stubs, programmes, personal emails from Brian, and Roger's drumsticks.

Stick, oh you were just a baby during that time! LOL What a fun memory sliding down the hill!! I did that once in college where we snuck into a private golf course and slid down the wet grassy slope on cardboard. Good fun!

cmsdrums, I wish I kept my tickets stubs to all the concerts, which weren’t that many. It’s good to reminisce on our youth. Shucks. Hindsight.

Wow, how did you get a personal email from Brian and Roger’s drumsticks?! Brian seems like such a genuine and gentle person.

WOW!! How did you get on their Christmas card list? You must have been good that year! :) Do you know long they carried out that tradition?

So far it must be the photo where I stand on the stage of Union Concert Hall - Imperial College where Smile, Ibex/Wreckage and Queen performed many times. It is amazing story.

July 2019. It was my first time in London and England. One of my main goal was to visit Queen related places. This was one of them. I visited Imperial College just after Royal Albert Hall, which is pretty much on the other side of the road. Obviously I knew more or less where I should go to see what I wanted. And I wanted to see the concert hall in this case. I found the building - Imperial College Union. On the building is the plaque which says "Queen first public performace in London here 18th July 1970". I'm reading it straight from my photo. I knew the concert hall is on the 2nd floor. So I go upstairs. I came to the 2nd floor and on the right-hand side I see this magical place. Next to the door it says "Union Concert Hall". I'm looking through the glass in the door and there it is. After a while it turns out the door was open. On the door was written "Fire door keep shut keep locked". I'm using my photos for reference all the time. The place was monitored. But you know, this could be the only time I had an opportunity like this. So I decided to go in. Which I did. Turned out no one was inside! I had one photo taken in front of the stage. I wanted to make things smooth and quick. But there were stairs leading to the stage... Guess what? I went onto the stage! I looked arough and spotted very old door behind the stage, unvisible from the audience. I imagine they used them to appear on the stage. I decided to do Freddie pose to recreate what was happening exactly on the spot I was standing 50/49/48 years ago. The photo of myself was taken at that moment. Pretty unreal. I had a quick look around and decided to go. But then I had an idea to make a video of myself leaving the Union Concert Hall. And I did it.

Hopefully I'll be back in London. I loved every hour of my trip. This was just one of many many places I've seen overall. Also went to Wembley Stadium to see The Who. Unreal experience.

Chopin1995, What a memorable experience!! And so much fun sneaking in. Must have been surreal being at the exact same place as where they were 50 years ago. That was a great idea to visit there. Do you know if Imperial College still uses that auditorium for classes and such? Did you go to Garden Lodge as well?

You should stick the pictures in the Queen Landmarks thread:

I like the Japanese 3 inch single box set. It's cute, and from a certain angle looks like the obelisk from 2001. Thus spoke Zarathustra!

It is still used as a concert hall but also as a college's cinema. At least this is what's written next to the entrance. When I was there, many mics were under the stage and chairs in the audience section were prepared.

Of course I went to Garden Lodge!

Good idea, dear Dysan. I've completely forgotten about that thread. But the title says "landmark in your town" and I'm not sure London qualifies as my town :)

Chopin1995, your trip sounds awesome!! And of course you went to a Garden Lodge!! :)

Holly2003, what was on the Japanese singles set? It's interesting and might be a collectors item. I’ve seen 3” records long time ago in clear jeweltone colors if I remember correctly.
