They didn’t make it. Adam had to go back to musical theater to pay the rent. Monte asked him to try out on American Idol, years before Adam finally decided to try that route.

Now that he has money, he can get the band back together!

Adam isn’t making duck lips there. He’s scrunching his face... there is a difference. Notice Freddie still has space between his nose and lips? Not Adam... Adam scrutches his face as if he’s smelling a butthole.
