Just a few weeks ago I was watching Blind Faith concert at Hyde Park. Brian told in the interview commemorating 50th anniversary of the year 1969 that he attended this concert with Freddie.
I wasn't even aware that I visited Hyde Park exactly 50 years after this concert.
RIP

Very sad news. Roger will be devastated. RIP.[/QUOTE]
Maybe not.
Q: As a drummer, you’ve cited John Bonham as your biggest influence.
RT: For me there were there main influences: Bonzo, Keith Moon, and Mitch Mitchell, who I think was so underrated. I heard Ginger Baker saying some incredibly cruel things about Mitch Mitchell and I thought, what a ***t. Ginger Baker didn’t have any of subtlety or dexterity of Mitch Mitchell, whom he slagged the hell out of. That really got up my nose.
Q:Who are your biggest influences as a songwriter?
Oh, Ginger Baker, definitely [laughs]. Seriously, it would be Dylan, Lennon… and Springsteen is fabulous.

I saw a documentary on him a few years ago. He was a wretched, nasty, offensive cretin of a man

Great drummer, horrible, horrible person. Still, considering that even Jack Bruce could forgive him, there must have been some serious redeeming qualities.
Many great artists have been, let's say less than wonderful people. It doesn't make their art any less wonderful.

I remember seeing a clip of Ginger Baker storming offstage in a huff during a show which was either a tribute to him or Cream. Wish I could remember more.
Song was Sunshine Of Your Love and he was drumming with someone else. He obviously got the hump with the other drummer.

Sounds like he was a bit of a cunt then.

I usually bite my tongue, out of the respect for the recently deceased..but I have to say - great drummer, not the nicest of guys. I thought this article was a joke at first, but sadly it’s real.

Very *humble*, as you can tell!
“Baker takes a pointed swipe at his Zeppelin counterpart, John Bonham, adding that he wasn't "anywhere near what I am. He wasn’t a musician."

All I'll say is go and watch his documentary on YouTube Beware of Mr Baker from 2012, not a very nice fella. R.I.P Mr Baker hope you find peace with that temper.
