I think it’s amazing. It gets rid of the awful echo and flatness in the old vocal mix. The instrumentation also Sounds way better in this version. The songs that stand out the most as superior than any other versions are IWBTLY, love kills, and the title track. The only songs I feel didn’t sound any different were TMBMTLTT and Living on my own. Altogether I love this new version. I’ve been wondering tho. Is this a remaster or Remix. Overall this version is way superior than any version ever. And the songs on Mr Bad Guy that we’re on Made In Heaven may be better on this special edition than on the Queen mixes.

They went back to the original tapes and rerecorded parts, and made changes, such as removing the over the top reverb on Freddie's voice, and changing the volume of the synths and altering the reverb on those too. Then of course, there's the updated punchier / more organic sounding drums.

It'll be my go to version of this album in future. It's certainly clearer then the original, and better for the update overall.

I created a thread about this in the serious discussion section a few days back (although unfortunately, it's gone the way many threads do on this forum these days, but you could skip over those comments). http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1570136/mr-bad-guy-special-edition.aspx

After hearing it, I think it sounds far superior to the original.
This place used to be great, but now it is an absolute joke. For serious Queen discussion, please visit http://www.queenforum.net

Why contribute to an existing thread on this exact subject when you can just create another?!
