I have a Red Special signed by Brian..
People who are owner of a signed guitar... Do you do something special to preserve the signature?
I have it now in guitar case and the guitar is not playing (it never was playing).. Do I keep it in guitar case? Do you put ''something special'' over signature? Maybe an spray or something like that?
Any ideas?

Is it signed in silver or gold or is it just a black marker pen?

You certainly possess the recipe for persistence.

Rub it in deep with a nice piece of coarse sandpaper.

Get it framed and on your wall then buy another Red Special.

Solvent lacquer will react with it and turn it into a smudged mess. Water based lacquer would be better but depending on the guitar finish may not adhere to the guitar very well.

Clear contact maybe?

I would use a high gloss clear spray paint and go over it once very lightly, let it dry and repeat a couple of times.
To be safe, try it out on the back on a small area where you make a line with a similar pen first.

Spray it with a Varnish that has UV protection.
Don't shun it!

Leave it well alone.
