You make me think of a few things. When I had monumental things in my life happen , Freddie and Queen is some of the music that I turned too. When my father was dying, DOOL was the song I played over and over, and I was thinking of even playing it at his funeral . Never even crossed my mind to play Lambert, he has no song that "fits" something like that if it makes sense. I do think he will be pretty much forgotten in years to come, but I will say I think he had some promise, but he put Q+AL first. I think he stalled his own career.

He doesn’t need to play a musical instrument. His voice is his instrument and it is not manufactured.
What happens if one day he has vocal issues? He isn't a strong growth song writer, so he doesn't even have that to fall back on.
He's supposed to have a net worth of 30 million dollars so I wouldn't think he has to "fall back on" anything.

I'm assuming much of that comes from Q+AL. When that's over, he will find it tougher than he has it now/recently. Even touring with Brian and Roger barely helps his solo career.
Icy is so compassionate when it comes to Adam’s future. Mister Cosmic is worried that we will be listening to Freddie and not Adam when it is the end of the world. I’m just thinking about what I have to do tomorrow! One day at a time, folks! Enjoy the moment you are in because the next one might not come! I saw my husband drop dead at age 35! And that was 46 years ago!

I'm compassionate...and realistic. You, not so much. MisterCosmicc doesn't sound worried to me, Freddie's and Queen's music can bring great comfort. Yes, I'm sure years from now people will be still listening to Queen and Freddie. It stands the test of time. AL's doesn't and hasn't.
Please don't patronize us, especially given the attacks you made about me regarding my parents. I've never even attacked you for when you posted about your husband, which I'm truly, genuinely sorry for. I wouldn't wish losing a loved one on anyone. It's hell and the after effects can be hell too.

Dimash has an amazing range, but to me his high range sounds very much like a female whereas Adam’s very high range does not sound that way.
Thanks, Brancelli, for your very reasonable comments.
I just think Adam has it all — voice, diction, charisma, personality, looks, style, dependability, humility, articulate and wonderful sense of humor!
Well, of course his high range will sound female, that's what human beings tend to sound like that high. Adam, too, would sound like a female in the 6th octave, if he would ever sing there. Dimash sings higher than Adam.
In the 5th octave, Dimash and Adam both can sing strong non-falsetto notes that don't sound female, but sometimes they both go for that sound, and I don't see it as a negative. Adam's highest note here is G5 I think:

Here's an example of Dimash singing full head voice 5th octave notes, and mixing in some soprano too. He sings 2 different A5s here (Full voice @ 4:10, and soprano @ 4:44). Different techniques for same note. Do you think Adam, who you consider the best live singer, could duplicate this song?

Again, you must know, I am one of the ones here who likes Adam, but can he sing this song? His Bb5 towards the end is insane. That's after the strong soprano E6. Adam thus far has not demonstrated he can sing that note:

I'm afraid SweetCaroline will take no notice. She will not, and cannot admit that anyone is "better" than AL, or matter if the artist/s is from years ago or more recently. It goes against everything SweetCaroline believes about Adam. Hell, she's even tried to knock Freddie down to make AL seem better a few times. It can't get through to her that somepeople don't feel the same way she does, that's basically it.
Dimash is pretty good, thanks for "introducing" his music on QZ.

And I'm not even saying definitively Dimash is the best male singer. I'm only using him as evidence Adam is not. And I truly do like Adam and think he is a great singer. I am welcome to other's suggestions for best singer. I'm becoming a fan of Myles Kennedy now thanks to Holly. I guess my point here is that I don't like the premise of this thread, no matter how good a singer is. It's difficult to say who is the best live singer. There are 7 billion people here, so don't neglect Asia when you make that claim. No one really knows. All I can say is, from what I've heard in my lifetime, Dimash is the most skilled singer technically I've had the privelidge to hear. But I'm always welcome to hear more, and I love several vocalists.
This is studio, but a great example of Lambert's skill, even showcases some falsetto, but goes right back into it head on:

I'd give some examples who I think is the best, but SweetCaroline would bitch me out for doing so. Actually, to heck with what she thinks. Gary Cherone is a pretty good singer, and so is Brandon Flowers. George Michael was the best in recent years...I swear he can still blow me away. I think he was the best since 1991.
I love Elton John and Ozzy Osborne, although I wouldn't call them the best, they rank high for me.
It's good you gave the example of Dimash. Nothing about him seems "forced" if that makes sense. He's actually a very good example of a powerful voice with emotion along with it...with is sometimes hard to do.
I don't know why anyone would ever listen and watch just one artist...there is a lot of great music out there. I'm glad you love other artists as well, can you tell me who they are? I'm interested.
unfortunately, I have a bias against gary cherone, after the van halen thing. That boogie man line killed me for him. I know that's not fair, and I'lll give him another chance. But I haven't listened to him in 20 years because of Van Halen. I know that's bad. I do enjoy Brandon Flowere as well, especially the first 3 Killer albums. My favorite is the "I got soul but I'm no a soldier" song. But Brandon is not the one hitting the high notes there.
Now of course, George Michael. He is above Lambert for me. Just listen to Praying for Time. It's the best performed song ever on American Idol in my opinion. And he was sick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAyiaOtnSCA

One of my faves, love the drop off and the use of different techniques, truly shows his technical skill. That Dimash one, not sure if Adam could do the B5 that way but to be fair it's a completely different style of singing and therefore technique to when Adam's hit B5's so he probably could if doing opera style but 6th octave - doubtful, I've certainly never heard him do 6th octave notes at all though apparently he has in a studio when messing about but that's not the same as doing it live night after night. My guess is he probably could train himself to if he wanted and was prepared to put the work in but he's said numerous times he has no interest in what note he can hit or hitting a certain note for the sake of it, he just doesn't seem bothered by that and is more interested in just singing whatever he's doing the best he can.
I agree about the best singer thing, there's no one best singer IMO there's tons of great singers, some better at certain things than others but overall I listen to lots of music and some aren't technically the best but I still love their voice, really don't see the point in comparing one to another I just listen to what I like and don't really pick them apart but I can appreciate good technical skill even when I'm not necessarily keen on their tone or their style of music.

So because you and Cosmicc don't rate Adam no one will lol. Tons of Adam's fans get the same feeling from Adam as you do from Freddie, just because none of his songs fit your feelings doesn't mean there's not songs of his that other people don't connect to and his voice makes tons of people feel happy when they're going through a rough patch, in fact there's tons of people who claim he his music and voice help them through all sorts of things, just like there'll be tons of people who say the same about every artist out there, no idea what's so hard to understand about that, so no he won't be forgotten by the people he matters to just like Freddie won't by you.
