Adam just sang on The Voice and he was fabulous. There is no one with a voice like his out there. He may not be Freddie, nor sound like him, but his voice is truly beautiful. I saw him in Foxwoods and he put on a killer show. I think the last two times I saw him were with QAL and it has been a number of years since it was his solo show. He doesn't act the same at all. He moves all around the stage and seems totally free and uninhibited and very natural. I think he restrains himself because it is QAL. The vibe was very different in this solo show. His voice has also improved dramatically. You could really hear it since there is much more instrumentation with QAL and here his voice was more front and center. His lower range has improved remarkably and his tone is like honey. He can hit the high notes, they were pretty few and far between, but people went nuts when he wailed a bit! He sang all sorts of different kinds of music from new stuff to his old and older songs and he covered the Cher song and sang his new Christmas song which is very bluesy. He has a very nice rasp when he needs it. There were so many genres of music but he sounds believable in all of them, unlike many singers who sound funny when they sing outside their type of music. His voice is really improving with age and it was great to begin with. People went wild at the show, everyone stood, even me with three new joints and it was loud!! Not one person left for the bathroom or anywhere while the show was on and that is a first! I heard nothing but glowing remarks and happy concert goers. It was an amazing show and Adam seemed to feel the love and looked ever so happy. I don't think anyone here needs to worry as to what he will do after QAL no longer tours. He will continue on this path and there will always be people who want to see him because of that beautiful voice and spirit that just touches your soul! It was a night I will never forget and I can't wait until he tours with the complete album!!

He played at their birthday party because the wife is a mega fan and wanted him there, why on earth would he refuse to do that and why shouldn't he earn good money for it if they're willing to pay for an artist they like to come play for them?
I was talking about Brian & Roger playing with Adam at the party for the same people Adam did a solo show for and they also had the Beach Boys.
They had Mike Love and Bruce Johnston... not Brian Wilson. Not the real Beach Boys. Love and Johnston ride on Brians coattails. They are all about commercialism and money, the opposite of sophisticated Brian.
Freddie could have made loads doing private gigs. NO THANKS.

Freddie specifically told Phoebe that he didn’t want to play at private events, whether corporate, birthday parties, or anything alike. He said he didn’t want to feel like a “puppet.” Phoebe went into it, I forget the exact words, but Freddie didn’t want to feel as if he was a hired singer, being manipulated.
He enjoyed performing for his fans... he knew where the love was.
PS - If rockchic is such a Queen fan, why did she think Freddie performed at birthday parties?
I didn't I was talking about the birthday party Brian, Roger and Adam played together earlier this year. And I really don't care about Freddie or Phoebe's opinion of playing private events, everyone has their own ideas on that and some artists do it and some don't, it's for them to decide, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it IMO if it's what they want to do.

You mentioned something in the vein of, "it shouldn't matter, Queen did it before"

Queen also played their birthday party, do you imagine they did that for peanuts.
I see now. You mean Queen + Lambert. ("Queen" itself, bars Lambert. Lambert isn't an official member). Freddie wouldn't do that. Freddie wasn't a fan of those who would settle for a Vegas residency. Nor private gigs. He thought that was has-been behavior.

I know. You're obsessed with Lambert. It's why you never shut up and why you feel the need to defend SweetCaroline's obsessive Adam Worshippers behavior, no matter what.

I've noticed he's danced more in his solo shows, but he's usually standing next to his microphone stand while doing so. "Moving all around the stage"? No. Dancing more? Yes, but he's standing basically in the same spot.

Everyone, yes everyone, in this world can sing in many genres.
Adam... doesn't have a hard rock voice. Not at all. Not even a little. He doesn't have a rock 'n' roll bone in his body.

This is what pisses me off about you, Icy. Why would you call this hype and bigging up? It is my truth and it is based on my knowledge of music and what I heard on the Voice and more importantly at the concert, which you weren't at. How dare you say it is Hype? You have no clue! I have already seen all sorts of tweets from some pretty important people about Adam on the Voice. I do not cut and paste or spam, so you can go find them yourself, but they are already out there. As far as the concert goes, he was amazing and that was the opinion of everyone around me, including several who had never seen him. I heard people talking all night in the casino about the show including the waiter where I ate who mentioned how many people were raving about Adam. I could hear them myself. There are also numerous Newspaper reviews about it and the show in NYC the next night. So just cut the hype BS and quit raining on everyone's parade. Since you didn't attend the concert or any others, you have no valid opinion on the matter. When someone is excellent and you report that, it is not hype, it is the truth. Just because it doesn't fit with your world view doesn't make it not so. I have seen several tweets tonight about Adam being this generations best male singer, so how do you like them apples? By the way, I agree with that statement and it isn't hype. There are other singers in the world besides Freddie, you know? Adam being excellent has nothing to do with Freddie when you get right down to it. He is Adam and he is amazing!!
