I meant this as an actual question not a jab at Lambert though personally I dislike him

Some fans would like it better.
But to keep it real: Q+AL is currently one of the hottest acts on earth.
It it AL, who brought Q+ there? No. It’s the movie in the first place. Still, it’s known, that Q+AL is a great show. Great music, great entertainment, a lot of nostalgia. It works and the reputation and reviews are brilliant. Most people, who attend the shows, are stunned and raving about it. Even I had a change of mind, after I got to see them live. Which I refused to do in the beginning.
Adam as the frontman is a hell of a singer. He can sing all those songs, that I love. Sure, different from Freddie, but still great. Marc is closer to Freddie. But do people want a clone? Also, Marc does have bad nights occasionally and doesn’t have the same vocal range like Freddie and Adam.
So it depends on what you prefer. Opinions will always be different.
Adam’s biggest plus is that he’s a showman. A frontman. As much as I like Marc, I cannot think of him working a huge crowd of 15-20k people. It works in smaller venues.
Adam’s appearance, stage antics and jokes aren‘t appreciated by every Queen fan. I could for sure live without some of it. But nevertheless, he works the crowd and has them in the palm of his hand. The shows work, despite Adam being very different from Freddie.
Most probably the great chemistry between Roger, Brian and AL is another reason the show works so well. I don’t think, good old Rog (God moved out, when I moved in) and Mister Martel (with his religious songwriting) are really on the same page.
Under Pressure by Roger and Adam is one of the highlights of the shows for me. Wouldn’t work between Roger and Marc.

I’d rather see Brian and Roger solo shows. Marc Martel is great, but I’d rather watch his solo shows as well. I think Marc could create an awesome 80’s pop/rock influenced band, his singing is so much better than Lambert’s, but let’s put Queen down, let’s focus on Freddie’s solo songs.

Martel is a full time Freddie tribute act nowadays - definitely not a sex machine ready to reload.....boring
If Brian and Roger wanted to replace Freddie with an imitator Marc would've been a great choice I guess. Although Gary Mullen would've been even better as his tribute show is more fun than Martel's. A better vocalist Marc vs a better showman Gary!!!

Great post, Sealion! Well said!
I don’t know anything about Gary Mullin. Marc is a nice guy but is lacking charisma! I would take Jeff Scott Soto before him!

Just saw his appearance at our local German TV - now tell me Lembird does it better lol. Awesome performance - he is eating Lameturd for breakfast!
He is completely down to earth and not a sad arrogant prick that this current "Thing" on the Queen mic is. Great guy

In some early videos he sounded a lot like Fred but here he's not doing an impression, just singing the song they way it's meant to be sung. I'm not 100% on board with his tone in the higher register but to my ears it's more soulful and less thin than Lambert.
With all that said, I doubt he will ever be part of Queen+ as I suspect it's reaching the end of its lifespan.

Exactly. NOT THIN! and no oversinging going up and down the scales . He surely won't but he in Queen + is still way more credible than this manufactured pop clown. And his solo stuff is impressive as well. And his old christian Band too. No wonder he sang in the movie and Lamebird got his role as gay trucker. Says it all....

He sang Happy birthday and a few lines of Love of my life in the movie. So a few seconds. 99% was Freddie. Just to state the facts.

They did that, yes. And dropped it all.
Because close to the release they had found /received a great audio recording of Live Aid, that they never knew existed.
Brian has confirmed, that it’s 99% Freddie, whom you hear in the movie. They did barely use Marc‘s voice in the end, because they didn’t need it.
But yes, Marc did record it all. It’s for sure shelved and you can hope, that he will release it some time in the future.
