Battle of the bookends of Queens discography, the youthful battle of good vs evil mystical fairytale or the brave realistic showdown with death.
What bookend is your favorite?

(MIH was added as I believe that those last three songs were basically part of those same studio sessions as Innuendo... Queen II could also be added in the same way as a handful of those songs pre-dated and were born out of the QI session)

I have always suspected this as well, but the official information from the band is that they were part of a separate thing recorded around the same time as the videos were being filmed and always intended to be on a separate album.

They were recorded long(-ish) after 'Innuendo'. Well, it depends on how you count them, but the time between the end of the 'Innuendo' sessions and the beginning of the 'Made in Heaven' ones isn't that much shorter than, say, between 'The Game' and 'Flash Gordon', or between 'Queen' and 'Queen II'.

In fact, technically, they finished 'Sheer Heart Attack' in September 1974 and the earliest 'A Night at the Opera' track to be recorded was on the 27th of October, which is even a shorter gap than the one between 'Innuendo' and 'Made in Heaven'.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

Wow, a very tough question! They are neck and neck, loved in different ways. Their first album is one of my favs, so creative and varied. Liar is one of my most favorite Queen songs, and there is not a track on the entire album that I don’t love. Innuendo is also fantastic, the title song is amazing, Bijou is so wistful and deep, Headlong is fun, I even love Ride the Wild Wind. But the overarching feel of impending doom on the album makes it a bit less of a good listen. And a few of the songs are more of a letdown musically for me, Delilah and I can’t Live With You. So my verdict is the first album is best!
