Houston '77, well before the sing along took over.

I like hearing Freddie's vocals and Brian's guitar without being drowned out by the sing along.

Live Killers version.

I love how Freddie sings this with so much passion. The live versions sound like a totally different song from the studio one. Live in Houston is my favorite too.

Oakland 1980. Like the Houston concert there is no audience participation. Plus superb vocals from the 1980 U.S. Game tour.

There are also some nice harp covers on YouTube, and this one is rather special:

LK version here too. First version I heard and is to me definitive. The album version is megaswag over fussy.

This place used to be great, but now it is an absolute joke. For serious Queen discussion, please visit http://www.queenforum.net

ah.. YOU CAUGHT ME!...

Hah.. I was just Joshing' ya know.
I ain't married

I'm a little perplexed at analyzing live gigs.. particularly when I wasn't at them.. So, love of my Life (the song) live.. they're all essentially the same.

Only later Freddie'd intersperse comments. So, I guess I don't have one. :-/

They're all good.

Was there ever one where Brian broke a string, then his guitar for instance??

I am not aware of any broken strings during Love of My Life

Brian broke a string at Houston 77 during playing the intro to Liar ... there was a nice short eerie interlude (mostly cymbals as I recall) while Brian was hurriedly given another guitar.

Brian also broke a string playing Dragon Attack (at Milton Keynes??) and John got to do a very short bass solo before Brian was given another guitar.

I do not believe that Brian destroyed his guitars in either show.

Only John hurls guitars ... ala Knebworth.
