Metallica were there as genuine Queen fans. Lars had mentioned their albums in interviews several years before 1992. They had also recorded their version of Stone Cold Crazy and had been playing it, on and off, for a number of years.
Same as Extreme. I remember interviews in 1991 where Gary and Nuno said they were huge Queen fans.
