This is a Queen forum and this section of the Queen forum is for the Queen+AL project. I don't really know how hard that is to understand. If there's anywhere to post positive things about the current project...it's here.

You dont lose an argument when you say freddie is dead. It wasn't an attempt to make Adam look better, as i stated i prefer Freddie and he is better. It's ro highlight the the fact that other things are happening in the Queen world now. It doesn't mean the most important and best period loses any value...it just means you can still enjoy what is happening now.

My comment wasn't aimed directly at you..it was a general comment about a few people who post the same thing on here.

I know it's a Queen forum. Unlike some who use it as a place to promote Lambert at the drop of a hat.
I really wish people,e would not be so flippant when it's said Freddie's dead, not saying you are like that, but it's been done here. I think most of us know Freddie's passed away, but some of us know his legacy is living on, and it's not because Q+AL only, there lots of factors, even more recently the biopic.
All views are welcome here, I think there's very little rules here, but if anyone wants glowing things only, we'll since AL is bringing Queen music, he will be discussed, good, bad, in between...all sorts. I've even said I liked him singing certain Queen songs, but that wasn't good enough for some Glamberts here. Well one glamberts here would have everyone believe these shows are perfect, even when it wasn't.
I don't hate AL, I promise...like i said in another reply to you, I'm a bitch, but not a hateful bitch. I really like AL's solo songs from a year or so ago, damn that was his best song to date, IMO.

these are as much his shows as Brian & Roger’s and he’s free to wear whatever he wants. Were the Q+PR shows not as much Paul’s shows? Did he have to defer to Brian & Roger on what he wore on stage? Very much doubt it.
You really think that Lamebird is on the same level as Brian and ROger????? How delusional can you get???? Which songs are they playing from his catalogue this tour??? The one they played in the past was dropped as well as NOONE wants to hear his crappy solo stuff.

QPR was way different - it was a ROCK show with 3 legends on the same level and from the same generation. Three MUSICIANS- PR is a legend in its own right. Lamebird is an AI loser and not even a musician. He is a hired hand a vehicle to tour this Vegas glitzer cabaret nostalgia show

Yes, Freddie at times wore ridiculous costumes, I said that. Want me to clutch my pearls about what Freddie wore and go OMG that is awful!!! That's the reaction SweetCaroline gave when she saw on one of Freddie's costumes funny enough.

Lambert is a guest, he says so himself. Sorry, not sorry I will never think of him as more than a guest.

Paul Rodgers didn't need or to rely on over the top costumes the way AL seems to. It was more of a rock show, and it was more about the music than Q+AL ever was and currently is.
All in my opinion ; -).
I don't care at all what Freddie or Adam wore/wear, it matters not IMO.

Yeah he's a guest singer as in not a replacement for Freddie but the shows are still Brian, Roger and Adam working together and he has input into the whole thing and what he wears is entirely his choice, they don't tell him what to wear at all and nor should they IMO.

Paul was an entirely different type of performer, no you wouldn't catch Paul wearing the kind of clothes either Freddie or Adam wore and that was his choice. Yeah it was more a rock show but Brian & Roger have both said Adam is a better fit in their opinion as they like the theatrical, camp, over the top production they're doing, doesn't have to suit everyone but it's their choice.

I disagree it was more about the music, anyone who's seen Adam live knows regardless of how much he likes to dress up, use props, act silly on stage etc he's first and foremost about the vocals, the rest is just for fun.
How much of an input does AL truly have for the shows? I'd like to know. For example does he have any say which songs are added...or dropped?
Some of AL's costumes...I did notice the top hat which to me is reminiscent of FYE. Like i ssy, I haven't been able to keep up with very much so far during this tour.
I did prefer Q+PR more than I do Q+AL, for many reasons. I think with the former, what you saw is what you got, and yes it was more about the music than Q+AL has been, or currently is? I will be honest with you now ( because I think I can be ) when Q+AL started, and I saw what I call "gimmicks", I thought it was too bad. Worst of all, was the coronet, man that well stung to be honest. Right away there were comments, that is the torch being passed to AL, it means all has replaced Freddie and now is the new singer of Queen, it was jarring, is how looked at it. The people who said that, I had to wonder if they were Queen and Freddie fans, because if they were, they should have known Freddie wasn't or isn't replaceable. Freddie and Queen's legacy has lived on for years before Q+AL. It will live on after Q+AL.

Ask her what she really thinks of Freddie wearing it. Funny she doesn't say. Because she's clutched her pearls about a few of Freddie's costumes, even bare chest and bare feet onstage.

I don't even consider it "ridiculous" which is a word that keeps getting bandied about in regards to Freddie's leotard/onesie costumes from 1976/1977. They are iconic and cool and he wore it well when he was young and slender.

Now...they WOULD have looked "ridiculous" 10 years later on the heavy/balding/mustachioed Freddie of the Magic Tour. Which reminds me...the leotard getup he wore on The Works tour was not a good look for him as he almost looked pot-bellied.

As I said before, the younger Freddie of the 1970's cut a striking image on stage. I really dug the biker with suspenders look from the Jazz Tour as well. He rarely did wrong with his looks back then...looked like the quintessential "Rock God", imo.

Freddie, Adam, Paul, Marc, George and Jeff — they are all unique in the way they have performed the Queen music. Of course, Freddie is the original and always will be. No one ever will or wants to take that away!

And only Freddie could get away with wearing that ridiculous but iconic geometric jumpsuit!

Where did I say on the same level?

They don't treat him as a hired hand in any way, he's part of the band as far as they're concerned (QAL being the band currently) and they don't tell him what to do or wear so in that sense they treat him as an equal and value his contribution. I've already said his music isn't really a fit with Queen and he's already said he doesn't want to include it in the shows aside from an odd one here and there.

Adam has input on the songs included, the running order of the songs, they discuss things after the shows and decide what's working, what's not, where songs would fit better etc. He skypes with them between tours to discuss the look of the show etc. As for what he wears that's entirely his choice he doesn't consult them about that, he loves fashion and for him that's just fun.

As for being a replacement, he's said over and over that he's not but he's not responsible for how some fans perceive him and what gets written in the media but he has no intention of being a replacement and has even said it annoys him when people call him that.

He said himself that he "looked ridiculous back then - but it worked". In Lamebirds case it surely doesnt

It's been talked about in interviews and as far back as 2014 Brian said "we don't tell him what to do" etc. Adam has talked about his clothing choices and hair colors etc, he doesn't run it by them and he just turns up with whatever on and whatever hair color he decides on, the red was apparently a bit of a surprise.

Brian's forgetful about dates but regardless it's pretty obvious Adam chooses what he wears, can't imagine Brian or Roger telling him to wear some of the stuff and definitely not the hair colors he's had (red one year, green another).
