'Hit by a Thunderbolt '

I fondly remember reading ' The Godfather ' in '83 and , anyone familiar with the novel can recall when Michael, during his exile in Sicily, happened upon Apollonia and was immediately 'Hit by the Thunderbolt' - instantly and unconditionally , smitten and in love with her.
I drew a parallel with my Queen love / appreciation and recall my Queen 'Thunderbolt ' moment. Although familiar with them at this point due to 'Seven Seas of Rhye' and Freddie's image being vaguely similar to Alice Cooper, it wasn't ' til I tuned into that 1974 Top of the Pops edition and 'Killer Queen' came on.
By the end of the first chorus I was hit and knew life would never be the same from then on !
A bit profound, I know, but any of you guys n' gals have such a defining 'Thunderbolt ' moment or was your appreciation a 'gradual graduation' (thanks 10 CC).

I saw take the stage in his garish outfit and blinking lights, fat man sweating under stage lights.

He sang a song called DRAGON ATTACK, and it rocked the boogie beyond my understanding... He is my hero, He is my IDOL... IN FACT He ROCKED ' AMERICAN IDOL!'

Back to the point of the post, it was watching the video for Bo Rap on Countdown in 1975/6 and I was mesmerised by all of it, but I still remember the rush when it transitioned from the opera to the rock section. 2nd great moment was seeing them live soon after in April of 1976. Spectacular.

Can't pinpoint any of those experiences truly. But watching an underground music video show on a public access channel gave me a peek of the Queen video for I WANT IT ALL.

That and the 976- ads that came up in between breaks. But for the tune and image to standout amidst T&A revenue garners and other 90's music was impressive.

I'd also enjoyed the hell out of side 1&3 of LIVE KILLERS on half a cassette version that my brother had. Falling in love with the goofy patter of DREAMERS BALL and the rock of WWRY and LMEY. ..it'd be YEARS until i was disappointed with the mix of JAZZ

I wouldn't know QUEEN nor their history until junior high when i gotf a few bucks and picked up their Hollywood records GH then ROCKS at a secondhand store.

They'd planted seeds all along. Can't pinpoint but those are seminal moments. Grew up without many activities (*won't say we were poor,but i don't know what went on financially). So although it would've been prime time for me, I'd seen WAYNE'S WORLD (*Saturday night live segment) for years but I don't think i ever saw the FILM until years later. They DID get plenty of Radio play at the time AND I'd always thought the opening theme to HIGHLANDER (*who's concept i didn't understand at that age) was BAD ASS!!

*Once again, it'd be YEARS until I was disappointed with the entire song.
