Well, turns out a friend of mine is also an acquaintance of Paul Rodgers.

To protect the privacy of all involved I'm not at liberty to say who I know but my friends said this of Paul Rodgers:

He's a phenomenal singer, beautiful sound, but not a nice person. He is a narcissist like you've never met before. He doesn't allow anyone near his dressing room during concerts, not even his family, and he demands that nobody talks to him ever. He sees himself as far above everyone else. Nobody in the industry actually likes him. I don't know why he thinks he's so great because apart from a great voice, his songs suck. "All Right Now"? What the fuck even is that?

What the hell Queen were thinking putting him in front I've no idea. It might have been a good band but you couldn't say it was Queen. Paul Rodgers is good, but to compare him to Freddie Mercury? Are you crazy? You can't compare the musicianship or voice of Freddie Mercury with Paul Rodgers.

- at this point I interjected and said that well, PR has a huge ego but it's not as if Brian May and Roger Taylor don't realise their place in the rock hierarchy, and my friend said "YA THINK? All those egos in that band? No wonder it failed. The difference is that when they were working with Freddie they all grew up together, and it was the original band, functioning as a song writing unit, and it was Freddie who gelled it"

My friend is a musician who works in rock music and has met many of the stars. That's all I can say.

How much truth there is in what he says, I don't know, but I trust him.

YOu won the internet today ;) The Lambert Police with obscure sources to Downgrade PR (and Freddie sometimes): Lots of pple I read have a different opinion. And in interviews he comes across as a fairly natural down to earth guy.
And I take Alright Now against "Two Fux" anytime anyplace. Case close. Reveal the source so we can have proof. other wise shut the fuck up ad go to Adamtopia. Sucker

Lots of rock stars are up themselves,i should not think Paul Rodgers is any worse than Roger Daltrey,Roger Waters,Robert Plant,Paul Stanley,Gene Simmons and many have beens.

I’m surprised he took on the role. It actually must have been some sacrifice of ego to only have three or four songs of his in the set. Given his taste in music I can’t imagine he liked all the Queen material.

No I'm not going to reveal the source other than to say it's a session player who has worked in a lot of bands in their time. It's definitely not Brian May! Like I said, I don't know if what the guy said is true about PR's dressing room.

He didn't actually give any information about Queen other than he thought that Queen shouldn't be touring as Queen plus anybody without Freddie Mercury, and he feels they're spoiling their legacy. Well, so what? Lots of people feel that and lots of people don't.

I know lots of session players, although my sphere is classical/opera, we have a few people who overlap with rock in the orchestra pits or if there's recording to be done. Revealing my source would only prove that I know the source's name, and not that I had a conversation with them about PR. So no, I'm not telling you who it is.

And yeah, I think many performers in rock music, pop music, and in fact classical music at the top level, have egos that are downright ugly.

I think the source is Danny Miranda bass player.

Wanting to be left alone rather than mix with people who bad mouth you to their pals? I think I'm on PR's side on this one :D

I never liked Q+PR, their concerts had some anticlimax times, very boring. I saw them in 2005 and 2008, more for seeing Brian and Roger performing. Interesting was that the very good parts were Tie your mother down, I want it all and Paul Roger's songs.
The best when Brian and Roger were performing together.
The cosmos flops was the worst ever thing they did with Paul.
I was very happy when this ended.
Since they wanted to continue performing live I prefer the Q+AL because the show is way better in all the aspects and of course only Brian on guitar.
Having said that I don't want any studio recording with Adam or any kind related release.
I am waiting for the Miracle boxset...

He probably got caught out mid wigging in the dressing room one time too many.

I'd hazzard a guess at John Bundrick.
