Luckily no, I am north in Perth on the other side of the country in Western Australia but we've still had fires here too. We were on evacuation notice mid December for a fire that luckily went north of us. It tore up through a national park here and went up along the coast where it's mainly dry bush. All the communities in it's path were saved and the got in under control within a week.

Yeah this year is just crazy with the fires and they just seem to be starting everywhere. Unfortunately some have been started by complete fucken idiots who get off on that stuff, some by lightning and some unconfirmed. If people here have never experienced a bush fire the heat generated is just insane. Anything in it's path does not stand a chance and with the right winds it can move very very quickly, especially with the dry terrain we have here. It's really scary. I feel for those on our east coast
