Marc Almond and Freddie

I love Soft Cell and Marc's solo career even more.
Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart and Tears Run Rings are absolute gems.
It got me thinking about his link to Queen and especially Freddie as an active gay guy in London in the 80's and looked it up.
Found something interesting quotes and stories:

Marc Almond's solo song scar is fantastic.

his first four (post Soft Cell) LPs are very good - some great tunes.
For anyone who hasn't listened to him - a good starting point would be:

yeah... possibly this can be said about hundreds of other guys meeting FM, even of straight guys .
Or thousands of gay boys just in general ( who didn't meet FM).... being dragged on the dance floor or being spat at.
So what's so special ?

Marc Almond solo stuff is generally excellent. It's a small thing, but I love how he chooses songs that stay within his vocal range.
I picked up my daughter from a late University exam a few weeks back and I feel Love by Marc and Bronski Beat shuffled on my USB. (From hits and pieces) Now my daughter hated it, but we did agree that it was the most discoey thing she'd ever heard.
Next track up was by Avantasia, much more her thing.
