they may have had a huge crossover hit single
but the idea to merge rock/pop with classical/opera wasn't a Queen first.
Moody Blues, Elvis, Beatles, Yes
and many more had also done so - had success.
but, again. you're missing the point.
listen to the 10cc track - it was recorded months before Bo Rhap but there are so many similar structural ideas from it that appear in Bo Rhap.

So your arguing with Freddie and Queen who said that nothing had been done ever before in the operatic style ever in the British charts.
You are off your fucking head, go and educate yourself with a Queen book, because you are making an even bigger dick of yourself.
Since when did the Beatles do opera then?

you need to learn to read. i didn't say the Beatles did opera. i said:

ie merging rock or pop with either classical or opera. the Beatles certainly merged with classical, as did Moody Blues, Yes, Elvis. my point was quite clear: crossover hits were nothing new by 1975. opera maybe, but crossovers not.
please try reading.
by the way: i note you still ignore the 10cc reference. it worries you to listen to it, because you may be forced to admit that Bo Rhap's individudal "sections" was nothing new in song-writing.
10cc did it with Une Nuit a Paris earlier the same year, Wings did it with Band On The Run...and there are several other much earlier hits that have distinct sub-sections. FFS there's Genesis and Yes LPs from 3 years earlier that develop this idea. Oh and the small matter of some Zep tracks recorded between 72-74.
and the small matter of two epic medleys on the reverse side of the Beatles "Abbey Road".
but hey, you're a purist, you listen to nothing but Queen (oh and Olivia Newton-John and Abba) so these other bands never existed.

You claimed The Beatles done opera as well now your backtracking by saying they done rock /pop with classical well that is not opera silly.

i did NOT say the Beatles did opera. and when you read on, you will realise that your lack of grasp of basic English is what causes most of your misunderstandings and resultant anger.
i'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here, as you obviously struggle with punctuation and symbols used in the English Language.
so here goes: do you know what the / symbol means when typed?
it means the word OR.
therefore in my sentence:
but the idea to merge rock/pop with classical/opera wasn't a Queen first. you should read the / correctly, as OR
as in rock OR pop and classical OR opera
the definition and convention for use is below. feel free to apologise, or even admit you are wrong - it would be refreshing, go on admit it.
it's time for you to piss or get off the pot.

To Indicate Or
Often, when a slash is used in a formal or informal text, it is meant to indicate the word or. The examples below illustrate this meaning of the forward slash:
When leaving the classroom, the teacher noticed that a student had left his/her backpack.

Bohemian Rhapsody is bigger than 10cc hit Im not in Love.
10CC made some great chart hits in the 70s though and they made nice records but there albums were crap.
"There" albums were crap. Did you mean their albums?
That's an interesting view because it's what a lot of none Queen fans said about Queen.
I wasn't referring to any 10cc singles in my remark. Maybe you should find a 10cc album called The Original Soundtrack and listen to the first track. It shows that song writers other than Freddie were capable of writing pretend operatic/ musical theatre type pieces and other bands had the same ability that Queen had to portray different musical styles in a convincing way.
And before you cone back with Queen did it first, they didn't.
maybe he should listen to 10CC's - UNE NUIT A PARIS.
Bo Rhap recorded after this song, clearly has some similarities.
Exactly the song I was referring to. First song on The Perfect Soundtrack.
Probably an album he's never heard of and certainly a song he's never listened to.

no i didn't.
for the last time moron,
the / between classical and opera means OR
if you had even ½ of a brain you'd already know that.
if you had even ¼ of a brain you'd know that's exactly why runner_70, albano1 and aristide did not challenge my point...because they have a decent command of English and actually know that the / means OR
but not you. you're too stupid...so stupid that you've now challenged the post three times claiming i said something i didn't.
ffs you idiot: i even posted a page link for you explaining what / actually means.
try and read my post at the top of THIS page...and learn, and then accept you got it wrong.

There you go again with your rants and name calling only proves you are nothing and not worth chatting to.
You bully rant call names and expect people to let you win the debate time and time again.
Typical of an arrogant old has been prison worker who has his Irish head up his arse.
Well fuck off and don't waste my time again because i am better than that.
