Looking back at Queen at Wembley '86 (and even Live Aid) there is something I noticed. At the time I didn't think anything of it but learning later on about how Freddie was diagnosed with AIDS around about '86 it takes on a significance.
Freddie perspired heavily during the Magic Tour.. Even as early as the second song the sweat is almost pouring off his forehead. Compare that to Montreal in '81. Hardly a drop of sweat even until the end of the show. It seems to me that the early stages of AIDS were causing a visible strain on his body by 1986.
But then looking back at The Works Tour in 1984 he's also sweating quite a bit. So is it possible that by 1984 he had the first stages of AIDS?

Yes, it's all aids.
Nothing to do with him ageing and not having been on tour since 1982, everything is aids.

we'll never know for sure. but i would point out that the Works stage set was a huge lighting rig (for indoors) - i'd suspect they were all sweating quite a bit on stage.. and let's face it - Freddie did all the running around on stage

Aids is a myth. Freddie died from speculations about mythical AIDS

The truth is that an Irish fruitcake killed him, and it wasn't an expired barmbrack.

I think, if you look at his stage perfomance during Live at the Bowl or SNL and during the Works-tour the difference is already very obvious due to the first symptoms of his illnes.
The difference between his performance during Live Aid 1985 and the Magic shows it's even more and that's only a one-year gap.

Nah. Look at the 81-82 videos again - he's sweating by the third or fourth song.
In the piano intro of Play The Game at Milton Keynes, Helen Keller can see that he's sweating.

He probably suspected he had aids by 1984 but with his attitude to life he probably didn't care. He lived life to the full.

"It takes about 10 years or so for untreated and undiagnosed patients to realize something is badly wrong as they develop AIDS-defining illnesses such as Kaposi’s sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, or pneumonia, or as they succumb to tuberculosis."....
Yes, Freddie had aides. Phoebe is one of em.[/QUOTE]
Ahhh! It makes sense now! Thank you

unless you're Prince Andrew - in which case it's a non-symptom. :-)
