This is a new transfer of a master tape recording by Mike Millard of Fleetwood Mac live in 1977. They were the biggest band in the world at this point with Rumours number one in the US for 31 weeks! When I get a link to download the full concert I'll share it here.

Nah, Zeppelin was still bigger. They were playing football stadiums and breaking records set by The Beatles.

But what a great recording ! Mike Millard sure knew how to tape a show.

Certainly a great recording. For some reason there are more unreleased high quality recordings of FM than Queen.

For some reason there are more Fleetwood Mac collectors who have bothered to track down tapers who taped Fleetwood Mac than Queen collectors who have bothered to track down tapers who taped Queen.[/QUOTE]

FTFY ;)

Queen collectors dropped the ball 20 years ago. While Zeppelin and Floyd collectors were tracking down tapers, most Queen collectors were marvelling at the wonders of the mp3 file and were completely clueless about the art of preserving old tapes. That ship has long sailed.

And there's also the reality that as Queen became more of a pop band, they simply became less taper friendly. In 1980 tapers went to see The Eagles and Springsteen, not Queen who sounded nothing like their first four albums.

But rest assured, there are undoubtedly dozens if not hundreds of unheard Queen tapes in the attics and basements of America from the 1974-78 period that nobody will ever hear, and the reasons are aplenty.

I'd just love it if there was a new concert with a high quality recording like this one from every Queen tour.

It is a great show. We've had some great shows already by Millard and we're only a couple months in...
