That's called "how the real world works". When you join an established community, you have to accept the community standards -- no matter how unfair you think they are -- or you don't join the community.
If you want to change community standards, you have to either become one of the "bosses" or put in the time and work to become a respected community member such that people will value your opinion. What you don't do is join a community then complain that people aren't changing the rules to suit you -- that will just make people not respect you. And when people don't respect you, they won't give you the benefit of the doubt and will look for the negative in what you say and do... which is where you're at now on QOL, with people pouncing on you even when you are nice.

So it seems that QOL is not filled with Q+AL haters. But rather that some of the people who support Q+AL just never got a chance to speak up (or maybe didn't see the point of speaking up) because your battles with the haters tended to derail the discussion.
