I knew that piece of information from one of the Queen fan club magazines back in 1980 that Andy Gibb was suppose to be on The Game album but Freddie changed his mind at the last minute.

i think you missed the point again.
You stated that the song Andy Gibb was recording was "Don't Try Suicide".
I'd like to know where you specifically hear that this was the song he worked on.
my initial thoughts were that the only track that Andy Gibb worked on was "It's A Beautiful Day", but i think it may actually be the first verse of "Play The Game". weren't both songs recorded during the same April (fifth and final) Sessions for The Game LP?
either way, i've heard nothing about "Don't Try Suicide" that you refer to.

Sorry yeah it was "Play The Game" that Andy Gibb apparently jammed on with Queen.
I do not know why "Dont try Suicide" came to mind though?
We are going back nearly 40 years though which is a long time ago.
Around the same time, Gibb was invited to sing the first verse on Queen's "Play the Game", and lead singer Freddie Mercury apparently was amazed with Gibb's abilities. According to some sources, the tape was found in 1990 in a search of Queen archives for bonus tracks for a CD but was not used. Since it has not been heard by any Queen collectors, its existence is somewhat doubtful, although record producer Mack has also confirmed that the version did exist.[10][11]
A collaboration between Queen and Andy Gibb has often been discussed and confirmed. Garret might have been there at the moment, but the story says '...invited into the studio, placed behind a microphone....'. That doesn't mean he was actually recorded. Maybe Freddie liked Garrett's ass, but wasn't so keen on his voice...
But the man has a book to sell, doen't he...?

,my point exactly.

Even if he has got a book to sell i am sure he would be careful what he said as the other three Queen members are still alive.
I actually think the story is true.

I don’t doubt the story. I’m convinced that there are many, yet untold but true, untold story’s like this one.
I do doubt the part of him singing on Play the game

Well when bands jam for a bit of fun anything can happen, but when Leif Garratt was singing with the band it was never recorded like Andy Gibbs jam was.

but the key here is "how true".
embellishment is the watchword. the basis of a story can be true, but the details can be exaggerated.
i think that somewhere between "what LG claims happened" and "a bit of joking around" could actually be the truth.

with regard to the part-taking in the recording session:
i'd ask - how his vocal style would begin to fit into that song. i can't see it.
FWIW - Andy Gibb's contribution wasn't a "jam" like Bowie a year or so later. He was invited to record with Queen.

Well obviously Freddie and the band changed there mind including Andy on The Game album but personally i think they made a huge mistake doing that.

unless you've actually heard the verse - as sung by Andy Gibb, you can't actually think they made a mistake. if/when you get to hear it - only then can you have an opinion as to it's omission from The Game being a mistake or otherwise.
it could've been great - it just as easily have sounded crap. it could also simply be that it didn't work/achieve what they hoped it would.

I’m more interested in the Billy Squier / Hot Space sessions...

Brenski It did not make the final cut on the album so what does that mean then, if you actually have one cell in your thick head that has twigged by now?

have you heard the Gibb version? no. so you are unable to judge whether leaving it off the album was a mistake. but you think it was a mistake (see top post). how do YOU know this?
without actually comparing BOTH versions - you have no means to call their decision a mistake.
you can't physically judge a decision to NOT INCLUDE something - if you haven't heard it.
and YOU need to be careful calling people thick. you're the one unable to read and understand what people type - as well as not even comprehending your own statement.

Because i trust the band with there very careful decision making, it is there album not your album so get off your high horse and stop been obnoxious.
