Hi everybody,

this Saturday German TV Station VOX will air an documentary about Queen which is called "We are the Champions - 50 years of Queen".

Given the title I assume that this exactly the same documentary they aired 10 years ago which was called "We are the Champions - 40 years of Queen" :-)

Anyway, I will watch it...

cheers

Oh man, 2020 and still these bad VHS grainy footage stuff.
You made us laugh, you made us cry, you made us feel like we could fly!

Anything interesting on the 40th anniversary one?

Ten years ago the most interesting parts for me were:

- extensive interview bits of Ratty
- coloured footage of TATDOOL behind the scenes
- new Roger interview bits

cheers

I guess this might be no more than an updated version including the last ten years.

Did anyone watch it?

I watched it. There was no new original video of the band but a new interview with Peter Hince and Mack. Also an interview with Roger which I have not seen in this length.Mack had a few juicy things to tell which was entertaining. Overall, the Queen story was not as sugar coated as was the case in older documentaries. For the first time in an official documentary they admitted that John suffered from depression over the whole time. The documentary was in German language which makes it unusable for most fans.
I do not want any google ads here.

YV - Did John suffer from depression in the 1970s as well?

I wish they would subtitle so that we could see it. Some new material is always appreciated. That is interesting about Deacy, it makes sense.
Love is still the answer, take my hand...
