Most of the words could fit the scenario of an over dominant colleague in a creative process. But the romance line doesn’t fit.

Yes i read about "Back Chat" been aimed at Brian as he was bullying John about all the funk/black music John wanted to write with Freddie so John set to work on the lyrics for Back Chat....

JD should be thankful Brian pulled off such a great solo on the song. Back Chat is the song and style they were aiming for on Hot Space, and if every song on the album was like it, the album might have been more successful.

Very clean solo with a nice bite

Yeah it's one of the better songs on the album, But could have benefited from a funkier drummer.

Instead the pocket sounds a little too much like "white guy wannabe funk"

Johnny Winter was a white dude, But his band had that extra bit of nastiness

Dancer[/i] sounds like something BIlly Squier rejected for Don't Say No[/i]
and Put Out The Fire/ is nothing more than a token rocker that they probably "felt" obliged to include. there's nothing special about it. It's paint-by-numbers rock with a passing nod (lyrically) to Rocky Racoon and Hey Joe[/b
