The gun lobby's traditional reply to gun control arguments is "Guns don't kill, PEOPLE kill" i.e. killers would use a knife, hatchet etc if guns were banned. But Brian's reply to that in the song is, Yes people kill, People. With. GUNS! His argument being that it's much easier to kill with a gun since it's an impersonal weapon than with a knife (for example) or a baseball bat, or a hammer etc. PLus, nutjobs usually go on a killing spree with a semi or fully automatic gun rather than, say, a screwdriver. Or a pointed stick :)
