anybody knows what's the weird sound at 3:04-3:06 in this song (album version)?

is it a guitar string breaking?
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

i think they were professional enough to remove a breaking string from a song

Just noticed that. Strange, ideed.

The same goes with Bohemian Rhapsody - after "Mama, (way the wind blows)" you can hear some strange sound, something like this: "We got it". Maybe that's just my brain, but sure there is something...

I think they broke the string on purpose, that's a nice overdub to the whole psychedelic screaming interlude

sounds like a drum, poss recorded backwards

Could be some kind of drum effect to give the impression that the ogres are fighting.

There's so many noises going on, could you be more specific? I can't hear what you're referring to.

it's before all the screaming

3:06, right channel I think, or both perhaps. it could be natural harmonics as well

now that you mention it the idea of a backward snare makes more sense, thanks

I still can't hear anything like what you're on about.

I'm not sure about the time. Some different cd edits have minimal differences in the time, like 1 or 2 secs. The sound I mean is in 3:04, while MexQueenFm said it was 3:02, so it's possibly that the mp3 I have has two additional secs of silence at the beginning.

The point is that I've listened between 3m and 3m10s and still don't hear anything like what's being described.

Try a sequence of sounds to guide people on the board. That's the clearest way to get the point across, e.g. bass twonk then drum rumbling then...etc. etc.

Hmmm must be some satanic messages on Queen songs.
