Very sad indeed. One of the few in classical music who could bring this kind of music to the big audiences. Also unforgetable for his many collaborations on different rock albums.
He even helped Queen songs to a higher level on AKOM....

I saw Michael with Metallica at Madison Square Garden in NY when he made the arrangements and directed the orchestra for Metallica's S&M album.

A great loss indeed. Along with John Williams, James Horner, Alan Silvestri, and Danny Elfman, Michael was one of the greatest directors and composers of our time.

Hey, i'm touched about it, but what the hell has this to do with Queen??

Well, at least he worked with Queen on the AKOM album. Furthermore it might have been a possibility that he was going to produce a future version of the Highlander soundtrack.
