I don't know if anyone in Europe or anywhere else gets these, but I live in the U.S. and I'm in my second year of high school and I've got my class ring! It's pretty nice, too. It has a ruby stone, my high school name, my name, the year I graduate and other little things.

There are such thing in Finland, though! We had ours on sixth grade (so we were 12 y/o then), but some classes have them later too..

Your ring sounds lovely! We had ones that were silver, with a sword and roses on it, I think it was beautiful, but as it was silver, I quit using it when I got my first gold rings.

also one for the air forse ac. mine was a blue stone
it got lost on a bottom of a lake when I went boating/partying with some friends, it was on my key chain, lost the whole lot, had to pay for a tow truck to tow my jeep 47 miles home...and get a another key made for it
