At least he entertains around the world (fact) Blobby - 'best entertainer in the world' (your opinion) - when clearly he can't sell out america. last time I looked america was still part of the world. Fair cop. Much as I love Robbie, I can't deny that he doesn't have worldwide appeal-well, he doesn't have American appeal anyway. That's a fact, sadly, and it's also a fact (though not a sad one) that America is part of the world. Although it's only an opinion that Robbie's the best entertainer in the world, just because he doesn't entertain in America, the opinion isn't rendered defunct, or useless. I don't mean to confuse opinion with fact, but that list of things he's achieved are all fact, and they all point to him being quite good, I think.

I can't agree with that. I think it's just stepford syndrome creeping in a bit, but that's like saying that people who get pissed off when Queen are dismissed as a gay band are just homophobes in denial. When people criticise Robbie for being a crap singer, I can't understand it, cos I think they must have been listening to someone else's records, and when they say he's an arrogant twat, I suddenly think they must have no sense of humour. I'm not going to pretend that everything he's done has been totally brilliant, far from it, but I do think he's the best that Britain, if not the world, has at the moment-and that's not just cos he's the best of a bad bunch either.
Anyhow, it's just opinion. I'm slagging off Jagger for the same reasons, so I suppose I'm just throwing stones from glass houses. I'm sorry that other people don't like Robbie's stuff, or Robbie himself, but that's up to them, and in my opinion, is their loss. But, I'm not them so it doesn't matter.

What a successful artist does is assimilate pop music history and regurgitate it, infusing it with his own personality/slant. It's been going on for decades - To accuse one popular singer of doing it is crass bordering on ignorance.
